I can honestly say that the entire time I was there, from the moment we pulled into the parking lot and were met by the smiling eyes of Jon I was in a blissful state. Of course my friend that I stayed with contributed to that, but the boat was-for me and her- magical. Friday night it was chilly, that was great-just hang out under a blanket and listen to their wonderful selection of Jazz music, Saturday was warm and sunny-which lends another facet of interest to the stay. Seagulls, and sailboat lines making music with the masts. The service was wonderfully friendly and happy, and Karens breakfasts were inspiring (I love to cook). We did enjoy the little Italian place nearby for many reasons, and overall loved it. Yes there are airplanes landing and taking off-we loved that too. The bed linens were a lovely quality, and the bed was cozy. I look forward to staying again.

Fabulous Floating B&B!

5 of 5
From stem to stern, the innkeepers of the Green Turtle have thought of everything one could desire at a B&B. From the complementary snacks and beverages in the galley, to the plush towels and toiletries in the two baths. Each item thoughtfully chosen, within reach but stowed away securely on board. We were met at the marina by Jon who greeted us with a warm handshake and an infectious smile. He ferried our gear down to the dock where we met Karen, who escorted us onto a beautiful, classic yacht. A luxury boat I've always imagined being on and here it was a reality! They showed us around, giving us instructions on the intricacies of such a fine vessel. They obviously loved their property and were eager to share some stories with us. Within a few minutes, it felt as if we were hanging out with old friends. What a wonderful couple! They exuded warmth but gave us our space and were never intrusive. We were joined by another couple, friends of ours and there was plenty of space for all of us to spread out. We were lucky to witness a late summer lightning storm pass over Boston from the cosy confines of the main cabin. It was quite a show! Karen and Jon suggested the Viking cab company to bring us over to Boston to the Steely Dan concert we were attending at the Seaport area. Our driver Brian assured us he would bring us back to Winthrop whenever we were ready. After a quick phone call, there he was at our agreed upon meeting spot. We enjoyed a great afternoon on the boat, an excellent evening in Boston and a wonderful night's sleep on board. In the morning we enjoyed our coffee overlooking the Boston skyline. Jon's breakfast sandwiches were out of this world. Thanks for sharing the secret ingredient! Anybody who loves the water will greatly appreciate this wonderful spot. Thank you Karen and Jon for your gracious hospitality. We will definitely be back to visit again! Sincerely, Alanna and Peter

What a wonderful week of living right!

5 of 5
We wanted a wonderful quite, fun, peaceful, scenic, slightly pampered get away week of sailing around the Virgin Islands. (We are seasoned travelers and wanted off the grid for a week- well not entirely- we did peak at iPhones a bit.) I had taken a similar sail in 2012 and really enjoyed the trip, so my expectations were high for Deborah and me. This was my 7th time to St John area. Cap'n John and Susan were most accomodating in every way. The boat is wonderful- very comfortable with plenty of privacy for the two of us. Sleeping with the hatch up and being awakened by gentle rain drops in the night was a special treat. Deborah and I even saw a shooting star at 2.00 am as we were sitting up top taking in the beautiful night sky. The boat was always tidy and well-maintained, but we felt right at home, not like stepping into a museum. We stayed in some incredible bays during the nights and experienced the fun of sailing in these waters. Cap'n John and Susan generously showed us some of the local venues for eating and socializing. Watching the super bowl on the beach with the friendly group was most memorable. Susan guided us on a few hikes and provided just the right of explanation of the history. They gave us the space we sought but also I felt like we were sailing with 2 new friends. Did I mention that the food was fabulous! I'm recommending the Sea Witch to my friends and next time (not soon enough) we go back to the Virgin Islands, for sure we are calling Cap'n John and Susan. I highly recommend the Sea Witch.
