5 adults/4 children gathered from FL, CA, WI & MA for a family reunion. Brought a pak'n'play for the 22 mo. old to sleep in, & an air mattress for one of the younger children. Lots of space in the downstairs bedroom to add these pieces. House very family-friendly, lots of room in the back yard for children to play, very little street traffic. Kitchen adequately supplied for meal times, even large pots for boiling lobsters from the local lobster pound. Charcoal BBQ was put to use several times. Two bathrooms made life easier....lots of towels for showers. Laundry room a godsend....reduced the amount of clothing needing to be packed. Sandy tidal beach a short walk away. Approach to beach is a rather long ramp with rest station mid-way down ( & up!) We taped a tidal chart to the fridge and planned our excursions around low tides......beach very kid-friendly at low tide, and ours enjoyed every moment spent there. Sea breezes were just right for kite-flying. Outside shower with warm water made sluicing off the beach sand easy and eliminated the necessity of evening showers for the children. Weather was wonderful. On the one showery day we drove to the Kingston commuter rail station and rode (kids' first train ride) to South Station in Boston, and then took the T to the Museum of Science. Spent another day viewing the Mayflower and Plimoth Plantation. Hired Kathy of The Mirrored Image Photography to take proper family photographs, using the rose garden in the back yard as the perfect backdrop. Week went by much too quickly. Owners were accommodating and helpful whenever we had questions. Would especially recommend this location to anyone with youngsters.
