Cozy cabin, great location, quiet lake

5 of 5
Great spot for a family getaway. My son was happy to play all day in the lake, fish, kayak, and explore the trails around the lake. The cabin has a well-stocked kitchen and outdoor gas grill. If you don't want to cook, there is a family-owned country store a short walk away that serves homemade food all day. We took advantage of free dance performances at Jacob's Pillow, picnicked on the lawn at Tanglewood, visited the Norman Rockwell Museum, and shopped in Stockbridge. The owners had great suggestions for activities, area shopping, and area restaurants. The cabin is very family-friendly, the photos on the site were very representative. Comfortable living area and nice bedrooms and baths. The lake is great for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. No fast boats allowed. The gravel roads that surround the lake are great for walking, and the Appalachian Trail is only a few miles away. Can't wait to go back.

Spacious House on Gorgeous Property!

5 of 5
This large old house provided plenty of room for ten members of our family (four generations) to spend quality vacation time together. Whether rocking on the porch swing, slugging around on the living room couches, or spending long relaxing meals at the dining room table, there was never a sense of being too crowded. The property has an extensive backyard with apple trees and some picnic tables for enjoying the outdoors, and the private access to the pond and use of the canoe and rowboat was a real treat. Boating on the pond was enhanced by the fact that the pond is undeveloped and there were no other people around--just us and nature. Another thing--the outdoor fire pit was a wonderful experience, too. We built a fire on several nights and enjoyed roasting marshmallows and making 'smores under the stars. The house and property were all exactly as advertised--much to our surprise and delight. The place is well-maintained, and was clean upon our arrival. (We made sure to return it to that condition before leaving). Although there is an air hockey table and foosball table, we spent most of our time outdoors or on the porch (barbecuing). If the weather had forced us indoors more often, we might have taken advantage of those perks. We would definitely recommend this rental to others--it's close to all of the action in the Berkshires, yet a perfect hideaway for those who want to get back to nature and relax. And there are lots of local establishments where you can get farm-fresh ingredients for your dining pleasure. (We had fresh-picked corn-on-the-cob nearly every night!)

Perfect Getaway!

5 of 5
This wonderful two-level home in the Berkshires provided the perfect get-away. It was immaculate, tastefully decorated, with nearly everything one could think of needing or wanting available. The lakefront setting was beautiful. There was plenty of entertainment in the basement for young and old (wide choice of TV channels, assorted table games, great movie selection) and a serene setting on the main level to enjoy the view any time of year. Also upstairs is an incredible music collection, as well as fantastic art. The kitchen was well-appointed, the beds were super comfy, having two bathrooms was great, and the owners’ belongings were minimal and out of the way. The only thing that would have made this home completely perfect would be a fire place. We almost didn't choose this property because of it, but it would have been our loss. The owner is very friendly and was prompt to respond to any questions. The transactions went smoothly and besides explaining everything over the phone, they also had a notebook full of helpful hints and tips for the home. They also provide a huge selection of information on the local area. We enjoyed our weekend in this lovely home in the Berkshires and definitely would stay here again.
