The place is exactly as described; a bright, spacious garden apartment with the owners above.
Plenty of room for a family of five. Well-appointed kitchen. Appliances.
Right behind the main Osterville strip with Fancy's Market and boutique shops. Not too far from the beaches and they included use of a beach pass in the rental.
The best feature by far was the ownership. Petra and Carl purchased last year and just remodeled and we were their first renters. They were chock-full of great advice and they were quick to get us anything they or we had forgotten.
At least six different things that our family did on this vacation we wouldn't have known to do if not for their advice. Really wonderful people.
We called pretty last minute (Monday) for off-schedule dates that happened to fit when they had a vacancy (Friday to Wednesday) and they were willing to accommodate.
We squeezed a lot into those days: Dowses Beach, Craigsville Beach, Hyannis, MIT, Harvard, relatives in Cambridge, Marconi Beach, Provincetown, Herring Cove Beach, Race Point Beach, Chatham Fisheries, Chatham Town, Chatham Lighthouse Beach, Orchard House (Concord), Minuteman Park (Lexington). Lots of seafood. Lots of really good ice cream.
Didn't have time for whale watching or for a trip to one of the islands. Maybe next time.
The place has a great location. Not far from the beach and easy access to the rest of the cape, but Cambridge/Boston still accessible for day trips (important to us). It has room for a family of five to spread out. Full kitchen with everything new. Internet, TV (we hooked up our laptop to the TV with our own HDMI to connect to Netflix), washer dryer and air hockey.
I'd get up, get showered and get dressed to hit Fancy's Market when it opened to get baked goods and coffee for my wife. Kids play air hockey while waiting their turn for the shower. We'd hit the road by 9 to visit the beaches and towns. Come back exhausted in the evening, put the beach stuff in the washer, relax with a movie and get ready for the next day.
Family memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks Nosenzos!
