          ANOTHER WONDERFUL VISIT!

          5 of 5
Trip date was 6/15-6/22/12 but can't seem to put that date in the box... Dear Chris and Luima- Writing again after our stay seven years ago! Your property is still magnificent- felt like coming home. Great weather- we set a heat record yesterday, I believe…..96 degrees in Boston? Ocean water cold first couple of days- and it felt great Wednesday and Thursday. Returning to your beautiful pool after a day @ beach is our favorite. Andrew’s working in NH this summer, but Maggie, Jack, Andy and I enjoyed every minute. Biking was fun, Andy loved the fishing, of course, and …..the chowder last night….YUM! See you soon. Many thanks. Andy, Anne, Maggie and Jack

PERFECT VENUE FOR A GIRLS' WEEKEND RETREAT.

          5 of 5
Our group was looking for a Cape escape and found the perfect place in this beautiful home. The house is very warm and inviting, even in a drizzling April rain. The location and the views are spectacular. All of the rooms are wonderfully appointed, the nine of us each found the perfect bedroom to suit our individual needs, both for the early risers, and those catching up on their beauty rest. The kitchen was stocked with all of the utensils and cookware that we needed, and it's a five minute drive to Orleans for lunch or dinner as well. Ken and Ginger were lovely and easy to work with; we can't wait to go back next year.

ONE OF A KIND VACATION OPPORTUNITY!

          4 of 5
My family and I have just finished our stay at Manor By The Sea. After reading one of the recent previous reviews, I was worried about what my family and I would find for our vacation. Fortunately, my experience was not the same as that guest's. If you love and appreciate historical properties, then this home is a one of a kind experience. The setting is absolutely perfect, and what an amazing opportunity to be able to call this piece of history home for a week. We felt like we were reliving old-Cape Cod every day. The house is beautiful and has appeared to hold up remarkably well despite it's age, quite the attest to it's builders. There is a slight musty smell, but considering it's age, it's location on the water, and that it probably locked up in between rentals, it was not that bad, and mostly went away within a few days after we were there and allowed fresh air to come through. The owners opened the house up quite nicely for us with music, lights, and table settings. What a nice presentation. We found the house to be adequately clean and the furnishings were fitting. You can tell that the owners walk a fine line between wanting to keep the home true to it's historical roots and beauty and updating it for renters and modern conveniences. While the high season rates may still be a bit high, we found that for the amount that the house holds, the off season rates were reasonable. I do wish that linens were provided by the owners and not the guest’s responsibility, even if it was through a service. There was no problem for us with the back stairs, although for elderly or young children it might be an issue. The rooms are quite separate from the other bedrooms (although we found this great for privacy) and all of our guests who stayed back there actually loved the opportunity to take baths in the deep claw foot tub. All of our guests loved the house, it is great setting for taking family pictures, group dinners, and daily activities for every age. The beach could not be more perfect. It was nice to be in a residential area, not so touristy. So many things to do for all right at the house, and what a beautiful area of the Cape. I would love to see a book about the history of the house available, as many of our guests were asking about it. The stories/history would make great talking points and would help guests appreciate the home even more. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and piece of history
