Wonderful vacation home

5 of 5
My husband and I and a friend spent four relaxing days visiting Cape Cod a couple of weeks ago. We were thrilled to find Maureen's house to be all that was promised, and more! The kitchen was spacious and had everything needed, the living and dining room were comfortable, the bedrooms beautifully decorated, and we found the entire house, yard, and location to be perfect. Maureen has taken the time to prepare a large notebook with maps, information on activities, grocery stores, restaurant menus, etc. for visitors, and this was much appreciated. We also found this property to be wonderfully situated for two days of cycling on the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Thanks so much for a great stay, Maureen. We want to come back!

Everything the other reviewers say is true. This is a find!

5 of 5
Whenever the word charming is used in relation to a property, you never know what you're going to find. But truly, this place is charming! Although nestled among the woods off a lane that bends and curves so sharply into a dirt path that the faint-of-heart initially wonders just where it is going, but once found, this house, as previous reviewers note, is everything someone could want in a rental. Obviously owned and run by someone who has traveled and knows what everyday amenities are necessary, this functional and nicely-appointed home contains all the things one needs but doesn't think of bringing on vacation. In addition to a well-stocked assortment of practical pots, pans, mixing bowls and serving pieces, a blender, coffee maker, five burner gas range and an original Cusinart toaster oven indoors and both a Weber gas and compact grill (together with charcoal, lighter fluid and all utensils) accommodate basic food preparation. The walls are lined with a nice variety of novels and CDs although like Singerlute wrote in a 2009 review, we couldn't figure out how to get the TV to switch over to DVD. There’s scissors, pens and notepaper, even a stapler, and of course, free wi-fi. The only thing missing was a radio but streaming satisfied this NPR junkie’s hankerings. The washing machine soaks and gently massages clothes in a luxuriant two-hour+ cycle, not something to be rushed evidently; the dryer is more efficient and works well within a normal cycle. At six foot four, standing upright at the bathroom sink is a bit challenging as is the mirror for shaving but the skylight dormer provides brief respite as does the bedroom as long as a shirt is not removed with upraised arms beneath a twirling ceiling fan. But the water is hot (even in the outdoor shower), the furniture comfortable, the location close to salt and fresh water beaches, grocery stores, and both 6 and 6A. Peace, quiet, and privacy abound, and a good night’s sleep either under the star-lit skylight or like us, with blind drawn to keep out the morning light, this is a great vacation home. It’s well worth the effort to find.

Beautiful, refreshing stay

5 of 5
The moment we stepping into Lesley's home, we knew we were going to have a wonderful vacation. The layout of the interiors, deck and grounds all create an aura of peace and relaxation; and everything was very clean and well-maintained. I loved Lesley's taste in decor, which is even nicer than depicted in the listing photos. Lots of beautiful natural light, the chorus of birds, and Meetinghouse Pond just across the street! We enjoyed kayaking with Goose Hummock and walks to the many inlets in the area, eating pizza at sunset on Nauset Beach, Cape League Baseball, and biking on the nearby Rail Trail. East Orleans is a great launching place to get to everything on the Cape. We would definitely recommend this property, and look forward to staying here again!
