Could not have chosen a better vacation home.

The Orange St. bungalow exceeded my expectations. The home is beautifully appointed, down to every detail. It was absolutely spotless. There were six of us and the sleeping accomodations were more than sufficient and extremely comfortable. Every question we could have had was answered prior to our arrival and contact information for any type of service was readily available, We hated to leave! A nice walk to town. We rented a jeep and drove out to Great Point for a day of sun and total relaxation. We took a wonderful harbor cruise aboard the Minke with an interesting and knowlegable Captain. We ate out each night and the most fabulous meal we had was at The Pearl. This is a must for anyone visiting this beautiful island. I would recommend this rental to anyone at any time. We hope to stay again in the future. Thank You Cynthia!

        Wonderful vacation - perfect house

        5 of 5
This is a beautifully restored house. All appliances are new and the interior is completely renovated and the decor is very tasteful. It is exceptionally clean and comfortable. We were two families a total of eight (four kids) and it worked great for us. Although the house accommodates ten there are only three bedrooms and the other two beds are pull out couches. One room in the basement with a king size bed and a sofa bed in the adjoining room with a large screen tv worked well for one family. There is also a great bathroom and an excellent washer dryer. Upstairs both bedrooms have queen size beds and are connected by a smaller bathroom and tv room. This worked well for the other family. The kitchen is well equipped and great to cook in. You can cook a gourmet meal. The family room and dining room are very comfortable and we had many lovely family dinners around the table. There is air conditioning in all the bedrooms and we were never too hot in the rest of the house. The garden is perfect for kids and the deck was a great place for coffee in the morning or to sit and chat during evenings. Back street is a relatively quiet street so nice for kids to bike up and down on. Although not in the center of town the house is a 5 minute bike ride or 15-20 min walk to the pier. 2 minutes down the hill is a coffee breakfast place and a small convenience store. We had a car (and would recommend having one) and then you could pick up groceries easily at the huge Stop & Shop 2 minutes away, go to several good restaurants in the area and also drive out to any of the beaches with all the gear and little kids. Bikes of course are a must and we really took advantage as you could easily get onto all bike trails from Back Street. Jim and Barbara, the owners, live next door and are lovely. They were also extremely helpful and responsive if we had any questions and at the same time they were also extremely respectful of our time in their house. Our only regret is that we won't be going to Nantucket this year but we hope to be able to rent this house again for the following summer.

Great way to visit Nantucket on a budget

We arrived on the late ferry with the car and were pleasantly surprised with the cottage. It is definitely on the small side, but great for a couple. The place was well kept and all the amenities you could possibly want are there, including a dishwasher! This is a great place to go if you are trying to visit Nantucket on a budget (not easily done) as you can make your own meals which saves a lot. It isn't in prime location, but the island is small and everything is easily accessible from this cottage. The street is quiet at night and we slept well.
