My family and I visited Nantucket in August 2014 and spent a week in this lovely cottage. The house is spacious - photos don't seem to capture how roomy it is. The location is excellent. It's in a picturesque neighborhood, located close to window shopping, restaurants, and attractions, but not so close that it feels in any way busy.
Seldom have I ever felt as cosy and "on vacation" as I did when I was here! This cottage's character envelops you. The structure itself is historic and has the varnish of age. Fascinating antiques and nautical bricabrac are jumbled artfully throughout. If you are the kind of person who responds to materials, architecture, and sense of place, then I think you would much prefer to stay here than in a resort or any kind of contemporary "Cape Cod style" house.
Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Stove, showers, temperature controls, etc. were all modern and in perfect working order. Note, the stairs are steep and I don't think this cottage is a good fit for kids if they might trip on stairs or knock things off of ledges.
Our daughters had the time of their lives. They spent hours at a time playing quietly in one or another of the cottage's many snug alcoves. And their two favorite beaches (Jetties and Children's) were just a quick ride away.
This cottage was the perfect choice for the best family vacation we've ever had.
