Fantastic long weekend, with The Pennacook house as our home base! This house is comfortable, cozy, and can handle a good-sized crowd; we were 7 adults (three couples, one single) and could easily and comfortably have handled 2-3 more people. The location is fantastic, walking distance to so much of Oak Bluffs. Rooms are very comfortable, bathrooms updated and clean, and the kitchen had everything we were looking for to help us whip up a few great meals. Above all, sitting on the porch, hanging with our friends, drinking cocktails at sundown, was absolutely a dream! This place has everything you'd want for a vacation spot on the island! Keep in mind that the parking is for 2 cars, so, if you have a third, you'll need to get a bit creative with street parking.

My husband and I rented this awesome home and brought along our 2 Golden retrievers. It was absolutely wonderful!!!! The house is open and spacious, very clean with everything you could need right there. The views from the deck are just beautiful. It was probably one of the nicest homes we have rented in our 5 years at the vineyard. It is so private, you feel like you are at your own little resort. We really hated to see the week end and can't wait to return next year. Laura was great to deal with and very prompt getting back to you with any questions you may have.

We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable and conveniently located cottage withing walking distance to all the attractions of Oak Bluffs: 2 blocks to the town green, walking distance to the ferry port and bus stop, 1 block to Circuit Ave., 2 blocks to the supermarket, 2 blocks to Cottage City, 2.5 blocks to the beach...fabulous. The owner was helpful and attentive. There was one master bedroom downstairs and 4 bedrooms upstairs. The outdoor shower was wonderful. The only downsides were that the upstairs half bath was built into a piked roof, so a bit uncomfortable for tall people and very hot. There was no air conditioning, so the upstairs bedrooms did become especially warm, although this may be the standard for cottages on the Vineyard (this was our first visit). Also, linens are not provided, which took me be surprise as a first-time visitor to the Vineyard, but apparently this is common as well; the owner helped me arrange linen rental. With 9 of us, we could have used another bathroom, but it wasn't a huge problem. Aside from that, I would highly recommend this cottage. Great location and value. Perfect for meeting up with relatives, as we did. Note that the steep staircases may be hazardous for toddlers. Enjoy!
