This was the easiest part of planning my vacation.

We loved our stay in Chilmark! The house has private access to one of the best beaches I've ever been to on the Vineyard. The house feels remote in all the right ways, it is surrounded by land bank property, but it is also so pleasant to get into Menemsha for oysters at sunset, or the Chilmark Tavern for a nice dinner and the West Tisbury town center is nearby. The house itself is a complete charmer. It is a piece of Vineyard history and friends on the island were always so thrilled that we were staying there and they had the chance to come inside. Captain Flanders had the house built in the 1850s! The house has been impeccably updated but stays true - it honestly looks like an Architectural Digest issue. Furnished with antiques but able to stay light, airy and upbeat. The owners of the house thought of everything, too. It is just ready to send you to the beach and welcome you back, ready to host everyone for a multi-course dinner or a full-out cocktail party. Or you could barbeque under the stars on a hot summer night. The grounds feel like you're living at Polly Hill Arboretum. The kitchen is fantastically outfitted (a Vitamix, new appliances) and there are sweet sitting areas all around the house- including a shady nook porch and a fully enclosed porch with nothing but windows overlooking the stonewalls and meadow. It was just two of us, but if you have more there is room. Invite everyone out! The owners were genuinely great as well. Responsive but respectful. I'm so happy that we now have a reliable place to make future summer memories. Thanks again Jen and Dan and the Blue Barque!

Outstanding Getaway w/ Fantastic Owner

5 of 5
This home was exactly what we needed! The owner, Fenton, was more than accommodating and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. This property was amazingly well kept and is somewhere we would definitely stay again the next time we are visiting Martha's Vineyard. Can't say enough about this experience. Thanks again Fenton! Hopefully we can come visit again soon!

Enchanting Chappaquidick

5 of 5
From the friendly and courteous staff on the "On Time Ferry" to driving up to a spectacular grounds and house, our vacation looked like it was going to be a memorable week! Upon entering the house we were pleasantly surprised by all the accommodations that it had to offer, especially its privacy! Our favorite places to "hang out" were the pool, hot tub, and the upstairs porch overlooking the grounds and pool to decide if we should eat at Among the Flowers or Seafood Shanty. The owner of the property made sure our needs were met with clean linens, gas grill, towels, bikes and the ability to chill to our own Ipod tunes while lounging in the pool, or sitting on the porch. Relaxed and tranquil is how we felt when the week was up. If you stay here or maybe I should say when you stay here, go for a bike ride to all the spots on the island but be sure to go to the beach for a swim then when you bike home shower off outside and enjoy a glass of wine on the porch while deciding where to eat dinner. Without hesitation I would recommend this vacation spot for all!!!
