A week in paradise....

5 of 5
Our extended family has been vacationing on the Vineyard for 20 plus years. This was our first time staying in Vineyard Haven. It was a wonderful experience staying on Hines Point. The house was more than we expected. When we first walked into the house we knew it was going to be a great week. The view is just breathtaking. The house was very beautiful and tastefully decorated. Once we arrived there, there was no reason to leave. We had our own private beach, a gorgeous view, beautiful birds to watch early in the morning, and great walks on Hines Point. Even though we had a full house, there was always space where you could go to have some quiet time. It was perfect. The owner, Mark Galvin, was very easy to work with. He obviously wanted our time there to be wonderful and memorable....and it was!

Perfect MV Vacation home

5 of 5
If I could give this home 10 stars, I would. We rented for a week for a family reunion, topping out at 12 people from four families. We used every inch of this beautiful home. The manicured grounds were great for games of frisbee, playing catch and wiffle ball. The men played horseshoes most evenings. We'd drink our coffee on the spacious screened porch while listening to the birds sing every morning. Some would head out on the bike path after breakfast, while others lounged in the hammock. After a day at the beach, we cooked fabulous meals in the spacious kitchen and had cocktail hour out on the patio. After dinner, we'd play games of shuffleboard, or watch at scary movie in the home theatre. Tired after a full day, we'd each retire to our space, which comfortably fit us all. This house has it all and then some. The owner Darren met us upon arrival to show us everything and he was readily available when any questions came up. It could not have been a more perfect week, and we will return again next year!

Fantastic Family Reunion

5 of 5
"We had a wonderful vacation at this gorgeous rental home in Katama, and I would like to recommend this home highly. Definitely one of our favorite places we have stayed as a family, and the location of the home was ideal for us, as it is a short walk to south beach, or a fun, easy bike ride into Edgartown. One of our favorite things to start our day with was just that, a bike ride into Edgartown for coffee and/or breakfast, and some exercise (many many bikes to choose from, as they were provided with the house). My wife and I loved riding the beach cruisers, although we did give the tandem bike a try too. The home is quite spacious, nicely appointed, and very comfortable, and it accommodated our big group of families, for our mini-reunion of sorts. Plenty of comfortable rooms upstairs and downstairs for adults, with privacy and separation when you needed quiet time (there is a cottage as well, with two more rooms available). At the end of the day, we all ended up in the kitchen/large family room upstairs (which we called the Great Room), which has a very beautiful, and large wooden dining table that could seat us all, and we much appreciated being able to do that without dividing our crew up at dinner time. This is the largest, brightest room in the house and where we all seemed to congregate and had lots of laughs, meals, wine, and even impromptu dance parties that the kids put on! great memories created, although I think I pulled something trying to do an old dance move from long ago.. There is a deck just off of this room which was a good place to relax, or read in the sun, and made it easy for us to watch the kids swim in the pool just below as we prepared meals. The Great Room was our favorite room, although I think my wife's favorite might have been the sauna! Everything we needed was provided with the house, and the owners were very friendly and helpful with the whole process. Great stay, beautiful home, we all definitely want to make a return stay here in summers to come!"
