The Beach + House= Perfection on MV

5 of 5
My wife and I decided to try Martha's Vineyard for the first time. We have been to Nantucket but never MV and thought we wanted something different. This Chilmark Farmhouse was just the ticket. It was the perfect week long get away with the perfect beach. Hancock Beach (which they give you the key to) was the most peaceful beach I have every been on. It was a short walk/drive down a beautiful private pathway with a gate so not just anyone could come. It had no snack shacks or loud patrons, just you and the beach. Even saw some dolphins and sea lions! One of the nice locals told me the sea lion's name was Herby! The house was perfectly kept with the most unique and beautiful antiques I have ever seen. The book case full of interesting history just like the house. The owners have amazing taste mixing modern amenities with a classic MV farmhouse touch. The Chilmark store and Ally's is short drive in either direction down South Road. Do not miss the farmers market in West Tisbury! We got such great food that we brought to the beach that day. A stroll on the property at the end of the evening was the icing on the cake. I would 100% go back and visit next summer!

Wonderful Experience

5 of 5
This property has it all! We rented this location for our wedding in Sept 2014. The owner was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, even helping us locate vendors on the island. The property is picturesque and made our dream wedding come true. The house is top notch as far as quality, cleanliness, and amenities. We had some family members stay with us and the size of the house provides everyone with their own space. Even on wedding morning the men and women could all get ready comfortably without the potential for seeing the groom too soon. We love this place and will definitely be back any time we come to the Vineyard.

Fantastic Family Reunion

5 of 5
"We had a wonderful vacation at this gorgeous rental home in Katama, and I would like to recommend this home highly. Definitely one of our favorite places we have stayed as a family, and the location of the home was ideal for us, as it is a short walk to south beach, or a fun, easy bike ride into Edgartown. One of our favorite things to start our day with was just that, a bike ride into Edgartown for coffee and/or breakfast, and some exercise (many many bikes to choose from, as they were provided with the house). My wife and I loved riding the beach cruisers, although we did give the tandem bike a try too. The home is quite spacious, nicely appointed, and very comfortable, and it accommodated our big group of families, for our mini-reunion of sorts. Plenty of comfortable rooms upstairs and downstairs for adults, with privacy and separation when you needed quiet time (there is a cottage as well, with two more rooms available). At the end of the day, we all ended up in the kitchen/large family room upstairs (which we called the Great Room), which has a very beautiful, and large wooden dining table that could seat us all, and we much appreciated being able to do that without dividing our crew up at dinner time. This is the largest, brightest room in the house and where we all seemed to congregate and had lots of laughs, meals, wine, and even impromptu dance parties that the kids put on! great memories created, although I think I pulled something trying to do an old dance move from long ago.. There is a deck just off of this room which was a good place to relax, or read in the sun, and made it easy for us to watch the kids swim in the pool just below as we prepared meals. The Great Room was our favorite room, although I think my wife's favorite might have been the sauna! Everything we needed was provided with the house, and the owners were very friendly and helpful with the whole process. Great stay, beautiful home, we all definitely want to make a return stay here in summers to come!"
