WONDERFUL WEEK OF ADVENTURE AND RELAXATION!

5 of 5
We had an absolute blast during our week of vacation from NC. The house was very clean and provided anything you could imagine. Especially the kitchen. If you came to Martha's Vineyard with the idea of cooking at least a few nights at home, then you'll be in for a treat! Gwenn, the owner, has every conceivable kitchen appliance provided. Not to mention a freshly baked pound cake and a couple bottles of wine awaiting our arrival. What property does that?! Hopefully, you'll be fortunate enough to meet her and her husband during your stay. They are truly a couple of the nicest and most gracious people you'll get to meet! The house itself is situated on a couple acres right across the road from the sustainable farm institute. It was great seeing all the farm animals every morning while sipping my coffee. If you'd rather have a coffee in town, then take one of the several bikes provided by the owners and ride a couple miles into town. No need to worry about traffic either since there are miles upon miles of bike paths that wind throughout the island. We had a house of 9 people at one point and we never felt like we were on top of each other thanks to the house's open floor plan design. The massive 60+ inch HDTV with it's Bose surround sound had us all engrossed in whatever we happened to be watching. As luck would have it, the World Cup Soccer matches were airing during our stay and thanks to this setup we all felt like we were in Brazil alongside all the other Hooligans! Overall, I'd make the 19 hour drive just to do it all over again. In fact, I might start looking at next summer's availability right now! Steve

EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS

5 of 5
The Stoney Hill Road House (SHRH) is the perfect retreat for a large family getaway to MV. I cannot fully express what a peaceful, relaxing environment exist. I was initially a little concerned because it seemed to be off the beaten path but the truth is that it's central location makes it close to everything. So, it is easy to take a trip to one of the beaches or a trip to VH, Oak Bluffs or Edgartown. The house itself is beautifully understated and extremely comfortable, easily sleeps 14. The kitchen is very well equipped and makes for easy entertaining. The children, young and old, loved the media room. We hope we will be fortunate enough to return to this little slice of heaven!

WE CAME BACK AND IT'S ONLY BETTER THE SECOND TIME!

5 of 5
We loved this house so much last year, we decided to return again this Summer. Wow- what a treat to stay here again. The house is in a great location. Everybody is loving swimming and sun bathing on our private beach. There's not a minute of boredom seeing the activity on the Lagoon, the beautiful views in all directions, the glow of sunrises, the easy proximity to town, the quick access to everything- beach, boating, sunbathing, fishing, shopping, tennis, golf... ice cream! This is the most impeccably decorated home I've ever rented....beautiful, not fussy, but comfy and happy. The kitchen had every amenity we needed. Loved the gardens and hanging out on the porch. The view from just about every room is to the water and is spectacular. If you are forced to work while vacationing here- the dining room table is the spot! High speed WiFi and water views in all directions! Everything is done to perfection with fabulous taste and Mark (the owner) has been super responsive to our needs. We have a few days left here this week. I suspect we will be back again next year!
