                                          A Beachfront Shangri-La

                                          5 of 5
We agree with everything Ruth C. said in her July 2014 review, below. A few additional comments about this very special place: • Overall impression of the property: Just the right note of casual sophistication, and a remarkable spirit of generosity in the way everything was freely shared. We felt like guests in the home of gracious friends. • We loved the fabulous, fully-equipped kitchen. You can tell the owners are foodies! There were all the amenities, in abundance. The centerpiece is a professional grade six-burner gas stove. There’s no outdoor grill, but the kitchen cooktop includes a powerful built-in grill which was a joy to use. • Can’t overstate the convenience of the short walk to shopping. Just a picturesque stroll to restaurants, groceries, ice cream, muffins, coffee, and even a place to buy wine at 8 a.m.! • Only a few steps to the beach. Even on Labor Day weekend, it wasn’t noisy or overly crowded. The other days, we had it mostly to ourselves. The water is on the chilly side, of course.....but we found that after few minutes we acclimated and enjoyed long dips. (As other reviewers suggested, water shoes or sandals are a good idea.) • The house’s included single kayak is great fun, as are the double kayaks and other water goodies rentable right down the beach. • The outside shower is delightful. • Fine large washer and dryer. • The shelves of excellent books and CDs were irresistible. We mostly ignored the books and music we’d brought, and instead enjoyed this new treasure trove. • Parking for two cars on the property, and free street parking nearby.

                                          Very clean and cozy

                                          4 of 5
We felt that Maria put items in the house that she would have used herself. The towels were new and fluffy, the furniture was quality items, the bedrooms were comfortable. If we needed anything or had any questions, she either answered our emails with a call or an email response very quickly.

Idyllic Setting for a Get Away or Small Reunion

                                          5 of 5
I’ve read all of the other positive reviews for One Kimball, and will avoid repeating what others have said about the comfort and charm of this great house. All of the reviews were spot-on accurate. We truly felt at home for three days when we recently rented Day and Richard’s house for ourselves, some of our children, and even our mother and sister and brother-in-law when we came to Marblehead from various states for our sister’s wedding. Our 88-year-old mother was thrilled to have her own private bathroom in her bedroom on the second floor. The number of beds and configuration of bedrooms and bathrooms was perfect for the 14 of us. Everything was provided, down to washer/dryer (and detergent), iron, large screen HD TVs, cable, wifi, and an abundance of good books available for reading. The beds were all very comfortable, as were the couches in the spacious seating areas, and the house was very clean and decorated with an artful eye. There is a lovely enclosed sun room, in addition to a large open wrap around porch, for even more seating, although it was a bit chilly to use them in early May when we were there. It seemed that most, if not all, bedrooms had ocean views, as did the main gathering areas of the house on the first floor. The location is breathtaking, and several of us enjoyed scenic walks and runs on the Neck that weekend.
