Another wonderful stay!

5 of 5
We just came back from another wonderful stay at The House by the Sea. As in prior years, the house was very comfortable for a multi-generational group (grandparents through grandchildren ranging from 2 to 12), providing everything needed to make all ages happy - very clean, comfortable furniture, good wi-fi, upgraded bathrooms (with good water pressure and enough hot water to handle large post-beach groups), new and well-stocked kitchen, and of course the porch swing! The kitchen is fully stocked with a wide range of pots, pans and utensils (including oyster shucking knives and lobster crackers) and more than enough plates, glasses and flatware to handle dinner for a 17-plus person crowd one night. The patio outside the kitchen has both a gas grill and a charcoal grill, for grill purists. The house maintains its charm along with its modern comforts and the long front porch and big windows can't be improved on for catching the ocean breezes and beautiful views, with the added benefit of a screened side porch. We did not need it this year, but the air conditioning is a nice option to have in case of really hot, still weather. We appreciated the well-stocked beach gear, with umbrellas, beach chairs, buckets and shovels for the little children, boogie boards for the older children and a kayak. For people looking at the house with little children, we have been in the house with children as young as 1 and had no problems - even the stairs to the beach are fine, as there are several landings for breaks if you are carrying a young child up and down. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and lovely for runs and walks. The beach is really wonderful, and similar to the bay-side Cape beaches, has a long shallow stretch at low tide that is perfect for young children, while it is more than deep enough at high tide for tall adults to swim comfortably. There is a farm a short drive away for fresh herbs and vegetables, a good grocery store about a 10 minute drive away in the Pinehills, and lots of local ice cream places a short walk away. We will be back again next year and dreaming about it - the swing, the porch, the beach and everything - until we arrive!

Wonderful family vacation!

5 of 5
We had a fantastic family vacation at the Sandpiper. The house was clean and welcoming. The bedrooms were generous in size and the beds comfortable. The location of the house is perfect, overlooking the bay and on a quiet road. Also, it is very close to Plimoth Plantation and other historical locations. Our kids really enjoyed walking along and in the ocean during low tide, looking for crabs and starfish. Any questions we had were quickly answered and everything in the house was in good working order. We highly recommend this property for a relaxing family vacation. What great memories we have made - thank you!

Great Family Summer Fun

5 of 5
We spent a week in August 2009 and 2010 at this property. We came back! Beautiful property, well positioned on bluff - not as many stairs as some other locations, nice to have stairs right on property. spectacular ocean views. house is in nice shape, very clean, very comfortable. love outdoor shower. the only thing that would make this house even better would be washer & dryer - but then again its a good excuse to have it all washed and folded for you at the local laundromat! Easy to work with owner and he gives good guidelines/tips. Highly recommend. We brought our whole family and friend - 3 teenagers, 1 toddler, 2 adults - and everyone loves it. Thanks for sharing this beautiful property with us!
