Wonderful summer vacation in Katama

5 of 5
We had a wonderful vacation at Don and Kathy's Katama Gambrel. The home was lovely, yard amazing and perfect for kids and location could not be beat. We rode our bikes to town and to the beach daily. Don and Kathy made us so very welcome and our kids loved Don's blue beetle car too! Everything was better than we could ever expected and just lots of fun. A great home for young families. We can't wait to go back next year.

Fabulously Relaxing

5 of 5
Wow-Gwenn has this place decked to the nines! Upon arrival, I was immediately drawn to the upscale beachy décor. The furniture was perfect for lazy afternoon naps and reading. The bedrooms were all well stocked with towels, hangers, and the most comfortable bedding I could have imagined! This house is perfect for travelers of all ages- my son had an excellent time as there is more than enough room to run, throw a ball, ride bikes and play games.! The beach is super close and we loved riding our bikes there-it was so convenient and provided an excellent opportunity to remain active while being on vacation. We were able to cook all of our meals in the awesome kitchen that has everything you could imagine for cooking. We will certainly come back to Gwenn's home and I HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone that is looking for an amazing Martha's Vineyard experience!

Everything we hoped for and more. Perfect.

When you rent a vacation place on line you're never quite sure what you will get, but this home exceeded the description in every way. Close enough to enjoy all the fun in town and the beaches, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and relax. When an owner cares about a place it shows in the little things and Don has packed a lot of quality, craftsmanship and imagination into his home. In fact he's still doing it. The master bedroom and family room, at opposite ends of the house, are HUGE. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the other beds and baths won approval from my three 29 year old girls. Don himself is just a great guy. He checked in numerous times during the week to see if there was anything he could do for us. Any questions about the house or the island were answered with a smile and usually a joke. He couldn't have done more. I would recommend this to anyone. My wife and I, 3 daughters and 2 sons-in law for seven days in the same house, ( 3 of which rained), and nary a cross word was spoken. Heaven. An enjoyable bike ride to town is easy from this home in the daylight or for a little more adventure, after dark as well. Down the road from the famous South Beach with an expansive beach area that never felt crowded even during the July 4th week. Just prior to South Beach is the MV Farm Institute where you can shop for grass fed local meats. Go back to the house and cook on the Weber grille and enjoy the wonderful deck and landscapes. Eating out is a cinch in Edgartown w/many restaurants to choose from. Thanks very much for everything Don. We'll still be thinking about this when the snow flies.
