Perfect place for two!!

5 of 5
My wife is from the Boston area, so staying at this rental was a perfect choice. We had access to all the local restaurants, tour sights and stores. So getting around was very very easy. The location is ideal. Also, the place is perfect for two people. It is small but has all the needed amenities that one would need to stay a week or so. The kitchen was well stocked with the needed items for small meals such as breakfast. The apartment was very quiet for its "in the city" location. We were extremely pleased with all of it.

Spacious, clean and well equipped.

The home was exactly as described. Everything you would need in a kitchen was supplied. Very clean and plenty of room for the whole family.

Best rental in Boston area

5 of 5
This apartment is a charming pied-à-terre. Because we have family in Brookline, we visit 1-2 times a year. This is the best rental my husband and I have stayed in over the past 4 years in the Greater Boston area. Size-wise it was perfect. It was clean, light-filled, airy, and cozy. Everything was in working order. The bed was comfortable, the mattress new. The living room furnishings--sofa and chairs were comfortable. There was good lighting. The kitchen was well equipped enough for us to cook meals everyday (not just snacking or take-out). The bathroom was clean, the tub good for a soak, and there was ample hot water. The Internet wi-fi was excellent. The locale was optimal. It's on a lovely treed street while still being accessible to all that Boston has to offer. Its proximity to public transportation is excellent. Right outside the back of the building is the Beaconsfield stop for the Green Line D trains. (With the windows closed the sound of the trains did not bother us.) It is also a couple blocks walk to Beacon Street where one can catch the Green Line C trains at the Tappan Street or Dean Road stops. One does not need a car, although, for our purposes, we did take advantage of the available parking space. It is walking distance to the ample Star Market grocery. Several stops away down Beacon Street will bring you to Coolidge Corner where there is a Trader Joes. We also enjoyed walking in some of Brookline's finest neighborhoods--out the front or back door of the apartment building. I loved the views from the windows! I am a painter; doing sketches from the windows of places where I stay is important to me. The owners of the apartment were a delight to work with. They were very responsive to our needs. Upon arrival, when noticing there was no electric coffee maker, they brought one over immediately. I think this is a new venture for them. They wanted to make it a good experience for us. These few things would make our next stay even better: 1) there were ample closets, but big plastic bags and boxes of the owners stuff filled a lot of them. 2) The photos on VRBO and Homeway show a round table in the kitchen for eating at and a desk-like table in the living room. There was only a round table with 2 chairs in the living room which served our dining needs nicely. However, there was no place for me to lay out my art supplies, as anticipated. I improvised, using the ironing board instead. 3) I'd prefer fewer plastic plants and the desk returned.
