When planning our trip to Boston for our daughter's college graduation we nearly swooned at the costs of hotels. Surely, we thought, there must be a better option out there. A friend mentioned VRBO and a-searching we went. We were encouraged by the timely response of the owner, the pricing, and the photos represented a place we thought we would enjoy.
Little did we realize what a gem this place would turn out to be - or what a complete delight the owners are!
First - the photos simply don't do the place justice. It's LOVELY, roomy, beautifully maintained, thoughtfully furnished, and truly feels like "home."
The owner(s) were immediately responsive if we had questions on how something might work, with restaurant recommendations, or input about things to see/do in the Boston area.
When showing the photos we took of the apt to our friends and family who were also visiting for the graduation you could see the envy in their faces! Honestly - we felt a little bad for them - being stuck in a hotel.
A little insight to the neighborhood: The owner has put together a fabulous little "book" including instructions on how to operate the alarm system, where to find certain small appliances, what the wifi password is, etc. Also included, a fabulous listing of local restaurants and recommendations. We particularly enjoyed The Blarney Stone - just a few blocks down the way. We had also hoped to try The Magic Wok, however, our timing didn't work out since they do not open until 2pm. To say that virtually every type of restaurant is within a 10 block radius is likely pretty spot on. GREAT neighborhood to be in!
We don't know when our next trip to Boston will be, but you can be sure we know where we'll stay - if we're lucky enough to get a spot when it's available.
