Our stay at the Lake House was wonderful. The home was so spacious and clean. There were eight of us in the house and we never felt crowded and everyone had their own sleeping space. The sunsets were gorgeous and mornings on the lake were equally as beautiful. In warmer weather kayaking and swimming are right at your doorstep. The location was perfect and allowed us easy trips to Newport, Connecticut, Boston, Plymouth and Western Massachusetts. Roberta & Jerry were wonderful hosts and a pleasure to deal with. I can't think of any negatives about this house and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Maybe next time the Sox will win!

We traveled to Boston during Christmas with three generations -- grandparents, parents, and two children. What a perfect launching pad for seeing the entire city! The #39 bus leaves from a stop just two blocks away, taking us straight to the green line on the "T," and from there of course the entire city is simple to visit. If you prefer a car (though in Boston, you've got to really LOVE your car), the Jamaicaway is just down the block, so you can quickly get anywhere you need to go. The home itself is just charming. Although the bedroom with an "interior window" might cause problems for truly light sleepers who are staying with loud talkers -- you know who you are -- for us it was just another fun architectural touch in a well-thought-out gem of a house. The living room, office, and den offer plenty of space to spread out but also wonderful gathering space to bring the family together. Furnishings are sophisticated and comfortable. We made full Christmas dinner for six in the well-appointed kitchen with ease. In short, we felt completely at home. I would also like to add that while we were staying at this home, the water heater unfortunately broke down, but the owner immediately found a plumber (on Christmas Eve, no less) who fixed the problem. These things happen... but the owner was gracious and accessible, which is really what one hopes for in a host.

A great place to relax and have fun. We enjoyed the lake, swimming, feeding the ducks and fish, and kayaking. It was 8 miles to the T station on our site seeing trip to Boston, 2 hrs to Cape Cod and Plymouth. Great restaurant in town, Coral Seafood, and Vin Bin for wine and cheese! The home is beautifuly decorated, and the owners very generously provide many amenities to make your stay comfortable and memorable. If we didn't live in California, it's a place we'd definitely want to visit every year! Keith & Karen
