Nice cottage, a bit disappointing stay.

4 of 5
The cottage was very clean and well equipped. The only negative was a coffee maker that takes forever and does not make very good coffee. Furnishing were very clean and comfortable, but be aware there are no closets in the house. Also the screened in porch does not have a screen on the door so it must remain closed. Parking is an issue. There is a decent spot on the side of the house. We were told that we could park across the road by the garbage. The space is way too narrow and I would not leave a car there, maybe a bike! The porch is literally six feet away from the dirt road that runs through the community. The view from the porch is of the road and woods and the garbage cans. As people who like to sit out on their porch, not an ideal location. The lake was a major disappointment. First of all, an earlier review of the property by a Nancy B was on point. It is not a short walk to the lake. It is a very steep hill and the lake is at closer to 200 yards away than the advertised 50 yards. It is a very steep hill, up and down, and a difficult walk. You can follow the road to the lake, but it is a greater distance. A friend of ours, who has mobility issues, was supposed to visit us. We cancelled because she would not have been able to make it down to the lake. To say there is a beach is a definite reach. It is a small, boat launching area. The lake is very alive with plants and extremely overgrown. I was a camp waterfront director for 10 years and would not have asked my campers to swim with all of the weeds. The floating dock was washed in during an early storm and remained tied to the dock through our stay. We did not swim. For people who like to spend their time by the water, this was not the place for us. The web site stated 6 beach chairs, so we did not bring them. When we asked about this upon our arrival, we were told they don't provide them though the web site stated so. When asked, we were told it isn't on the mobile app and she didn't know what we were talking about. this info has since been taken off.

The best decision we made for our wedding!

5 of 5
Renting this cozy home was truly the best decision we made for our wedding this summer! It was incredible to be able to have all of our family and friends from out-of-town stay in one place, as opposed to scattered throughout the Berkshires in extremely pricey hotels. The owners of the house were so generous with their belongings that it really made us feel like we were at home. On the night of our wedding, we slept 17 people (using a comfy chair!). It is well laid-out and can house several couples and then many singles. It is also a very short but hilly walk to Main St, Great Barrington. I would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to spend sometime with a large crowd in the Berkshires!

This house has everything you could possibly need!

5 of 5
From top to bottom, this house looks and feels brand new. We stayed here for a small family reunion and were all so impressed with everything this home had to offer. There were plenty of towels, dishes, silverware, pots and pans - everything we could possibly need for entertaining. The bedrooms provided everyone with plenty of privacy and nobody had to wait for a bathroom. This house is located close to town, but the only time we really left was to go for a walk or play whiffle ball down at the park. The kitchen was well stocked and the table fit all of us perfectly. As beautiful as the pictures look online, they do not do this house justice. We made our reservation with Kim and she was very accommodating and answered all of our emails immediately. We felt comfortable and welcome and enjoyed our stay immensely. We can't wait to go back!
