Secluded Gem

This is one of those very special places that you're hesitant to write about because you don't want the secret to get out. Aquinnah is a beautiful part of Martha's Vineyard, and Anne and Andy's spot is truly magical. It's located on a dirt road, near the Western tip of the island, surrounded by trees, with a commanding view of the Sound - I can't imagine a better location. The house itself is simple in the best possible meaning of that word. It has a classic beach house feel, and is more spacious than the pictures imply. I could go on about the lovely house, the spectacular location and the gracious owners, but you get the idea. Just go, and be prepared to feel sorry for everyone in the world who isn't you.

Peace, Sunsets, Privacy, Beauty, Rustic

5 of 5
My family (2 teen-aged sons, one grandmother, two parents) had a relaxing, fulfilling and memorable week stay. The house, simple and clean, has everything we needed and no excess. Woke daily to outdoor shower beside the black raspberry bushes, took two mile walks along the private beach that leads to Aquinnah Cliffs (arguably the most stunning beach on the East Coast). Rode bikes to Menemsha and the lighthouse as well as beaches. Up island is much quieter and sleepier than rest of island, and we loved it that way. Our sons got bus passes and went to noisier parts of the island (and to jump bridge at State Beach) for the day. Enjoyed grilling fresh catches from Menemsha and spectacular nightly sunsets. Views of beaches from upstairs rooms gorgeous. Owner was warm, friendly and accommodating with our request for odd dates. Hope very much to return. Cannot recommend it more highly!

What a find!

5 of 5
What a find and you won't find it without good directions from the owner. We were looking for privacy and quiet Up Island and were very happy here. Lovely yard, cute and comfortable house. Going back for another week and hope to make it an annual visit. If you love the Up island beaches and solitude, this is your place. Can't recommend it enough.
