I didn't think the house and views could exceed the gorgeous pictures posted, but they do!
First time to Martha's Vineyard, myself, my 2 sons and their girlfriends (from NY, NJ and MA) were looking for a beautiful place to spend our Thanksgiving holiday (including cooking the Turkey dinner). Our family experienced a loss recently, so we wanted a very special place to gather for this holiday. We wanted a place overlooking the ocean with that wind-swept, alone-with-nature, no neighbors feel, and it is exactly that, and more.
The house is wonderful, period. The kitchen is fabulous and very well equipped, the bedrooms great, the living areas fantastic and the deck wonderful (even in the cold!).
Long walks on the amazing beaches, long conversations on the couches overlooking the ocean - no matter what the weather this house is amazing. Sunsets to endlessly photograph. We feel so snuggled in when it's storming, with dramatic seascapes from every window - and when it's sunny it's equally amazing. Completely exceeds the rather high expectations I had.
My son, not given to effusive compliments, said 'Mom, I'll remember this week forever'. So will I.
The owner, Adam, is great. Responsive, and interested in us having a wonderful time - he called after we got here to make sure we knew how to get to the more out-of-the-way, breathtaking beach walks. His family has furnished this home wonderfully in an interesting, eclectic way, which increases the experience - no hotel furniture-type house - it really does elevate enjoyment of our vacation. He responds immediately to any emails or requests and really cares about not only Martha's Vineyard, the area and the house, but that his renters enjoy it as much as his family does.
I feel very, very fortunate to have stumbled onto this complete gem, and will rent again from Adam in the future.
FYI: The WiFi Internet works great (I own an Internet business and can't be disconnected, even on vacation), our cellphones, AT&T and Verizon, work fine enough. There is one -only one- neighbor pretty close, but you can't see the neighboring house from 90% of windows
