Fun on the Vineyard!

4 of 5
We had a great time in this Martha's Vineyard home. The dining room table was perfect for our large group at breakfast and dinner. The kitchen spacious enough for cooking and chatting. This home was perfect for activities; from the game room to the pool to the quick walk for a kayak or standup paddle board session. We had a great week and would definitely recommend it to all our friends. Make sure to rent bikes, it's a fun way to get to Edgartown center and State Street beach.

Lovely secluded home

4 of 5
Pros: Bones of this home are fabulous, furnishings top notch, secluded/quiet, great salt water pool, amazing starry nights by the outdoor fireplace, loads of room, nice TV and surround sound set up, location convenient to much of the island's popular areas. Cons: "Heated" pool was too cool so I complained and was told it was "solar" heated since it's a gunite black bottom pool... it was an extra $135 to actually heat pool for the week, pool lights did not work, one of two kitchen sinks leaked, one of two dishwashers was broken indicated by blue tape with "DO NOT USE" on it, light bulbs were missing and a mishmash of styles, several bed pillows were flat, provide your own linens apparently includes dish/kitchen towels, beds were not labeled correctly on website so I brought the wrong size linens (owner did graciously lend me 2 sets when I pointed out this mistake), 3/4 mile long single lane dirt driveway makes for a very dirty car, hand soap in baths were all nearly empty, pool was not cleaned in-between tenants (as evidenced by a bandaid at the bottom of the deep end which I got out with the net) nor was the water level high enough (skimmer was making a sucking noise so I took it upon myself to fill it for a couple hours - noise went away), no beach chairs to borrow, freezer had no ice maker - only one ice cube tray was provided, the outdoor shower (tho not advertised as available) was in disrepair and unusable, no railings what-so-ever on the main stair case (this has got to be a building code violation), we asked about firewood and we were told there would be some but ended up having to get it ourselves, nearby beach was $10 per car and $3 per adult (this is where the RE agent suggested we go) a 5 minute longer drive, the beach was free, i scrubbed several of the pans and the coffee maker before I was comfortable using them. Overall, we enjoyed the week in this lovely home, however I am a detail person (can you tell :)) and for the price I guess I expected the home and amenities to be nearly perfect.

Fantastic Family Reunion

5 of 5
"We had a wonderful vacation at this gorgeous rental home in Katama, and I would like to recommend this home highly. Definitely one of our favorite places we have stayed as a family, and the location of the home was ideal for us, as it is a short walk to south beach, or a fun, easy bike ride into Edgartown. One of our favorite things to start our day with was just that, a bike ride into Edgartown for coffee and/or breakfast, and some exercise (many many bikes to choose from, as they were provided with the house). My wife and I loved riding the beach cruisers, although we did give the tandem bike a try too. The home is quite spacious, nicely appointed, and very comfortable, and it accommodated our big group of families, for our mini-reunion of sorts. Plenty of comfortable rooms upstairs and downstairs for adults, with privacy and separation when you needed quiet time (there is a cottage as well, with two more rooms available). At the end of the day, we all ended up in the kitchen/large family room upstairs (which we called the Great Room), which has a very beautiful, and large wooden dining table that could seat us all, and we much appreciated being able to do that without dividing our crew up at dinner time. This is the largest, brightest room in the house and where we all seemed to congregate and had lots of laughs, meals, wine, and even impromptu dance parties that the kids put on! great memories created, although I think I pulled something trying to do an old dance move from long ago.. There is a deck just off of this room which was a good place to relax, or read in the sun, and made it easy for us to watch the kids swim in the pool just below as we prepared meals. The Great Room was our favorite room, although I think my wife's favorite might have been the sauna! Everything we needed was provided with the house, and the owners were very friendly and helpful with the whole process. Great stay, beautiful home, we all definitely want to make a return stay here in summers to come!"
