Fun on the Vineyard!

4 of 5
We had a great time in this Martha's Vineyard home. The dining room table was perfect for our large group at breakfast and dinner. The kitchen spacious enough for cooking and chatting. This home was perfect for activities; from the game room to the pool to the quick walk for a kayak or standup paddle board session. We had a great week and would definitely recommend it to all our friends. Make sure to rent bikes, it's a fun way to get to Edgartown center and State Street beach.

AMAZING PLACE FOR THE PERFECT RETREAT

5 of 5
This was my first trip to Martha’s Vineyard and I couldn’t have found a more wonderful place to stay. The cottage is absolute perfection. From the moment I arrived, I instantly I felt at home. The interior is beautifully decorated and one feels the love and caring that went into the selection of furniture and furnishings that all contribute to a warm homey vibe. The rooms are charming, cozy, and spacious. No detail has been overlooked. Practical worries were banished as the cottage has a comfortable queen-size bed, excellent water pressure, a full-size washer/dryer, and plentiful outlets, new and grounded, so no worries about plugging in electronics. The cottage has central heat and air conditioning along with a working gas fireplace, making it ideal for all seasons. The full bathroom has a bathtub/shower. All fixtures are modern and there is excellent lighting (with dimmers) in every room. The sun streams in through the windows on all four sides during the day. There is also a wood-enclosed, hot water outdoor shower along a flagstone path from the back door of the bedroom. The cottage was built as a year-round destination. The exterior is private, situated on beautifully landscaped grounds and in the last week of August, during my stay, the trees and flowers were in full bloom. There is a lovely front porch where I spent a lot of time, as well as large well-tended lawns surrounding the back and sides extending to the tree lines of the property. Other areas are filled with plants, flowers, and gardens. The cottage is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway, as well as for a single seeking a personal retreat with all the creature comforts. I was traveling solo and wanted quiet, nature and solitude, without feeling like I was in an “alone in the woods slasher film.” The peace and serenity I experienced during my stay was unparalleled. It was the perfect antidote to too much city life. The cottage is within walking distance to several natural habitats and town and one can easily get around on foot, by bike, or car. Cabs were plentiful, prompt, and inexpensive as I didn’t always want to walk to town. Lynne and Rich (gracious lovely people) checked in on me without being intrusive and had prepped the cottage immaculately in advance. I am looking forward to a return trip as I already miss the mornings spent sitting on the front porch with my coffee, reading, writing, thinking, and watching nature.

A very lovely stay

5 of 5
We had the great pleasure of staying in this home for 3 weeks. Our stay was punctuated by the visit of family - for either long stays (10 days) or short, from long distance (Eutope) to short (Boston). We have been going to MV for 40+ years. We were very much thrilled with this great house. Our multigenerational household with many different needs and requests had no problem at all enjoying this place. From seeking quiet areas in the house for "off time" to having some great family discussions - all was possible. The owner, Jeanne, was very helpful and most pleasant to deal with. The house is very well appointed (perhaps a few additional towel racks could be useful for a big beach crowd like us) and you can really sense it is not just a cold rental home. Furthermore, the owner is a renowned (and incredibly talented) painter. Her talent with color clearly shined in how she decorated the house and combined colors so they were never off, dull or boring yet neither too extreme. It was most appealing to be in this very harmonious and beautiful home - which definitely appealed to our sense of aesthetics. The house location is great - very quiet with lovely (discreet) neighbors. Bikes or a car are definitely recommended but there is also a shuttle going downtown Edgartown right at the end of the dirt road - about a 5-7' walk. One very nice part of the house is the upper deck, right under the trees. Very large and private, as if it were a tree house. We are very lucky and happy to have enjoyed this wonderful home.
