Idyllic Setting

5 of 5
After getting married on the Cape, my husband and I rented this house for a few days as a "mini-moon". It was the most perfect rental- the house was so beautiful and the yard was meticulous. The location was ideal- we had the opportunity to see every part of the island in the few days we stayed. There really was everything you could need- board games, tons of bath towels, bottle opener, coffee maker, DVD player. And the house itself was new and so clean! The owners even dropped off beautiful flowers :) Absolutely loved every minute of our stay- so much so we hope to return for our anniversary!

AMAZING PLACE FOR THE PERFECT RETREAT

5 of 5
This was my first trip to Martha’s Vineyard and I couldn’t have found a more wonderful place to stay. The cottage is absolute perfection. From the moment I arrived, I instantly I felt at home. The interior is beautifully decorated and one feels the love and caring that went into the selection of furniture and furnishings that all contribute to a warm homey vibe. The rooms are charming, cozy, and spacious. No detail has been overlooked. Practical worries were banished as the cottage has a comfortable queen-size bed, excellent water pressure, a full-size washer/dryer, and plentiful outlets, new and grounded, so no worries about plugging in electronics. The cottage has central heat and air conditioning along with a working gas fireplace, making it ideal for all seasons. The full bathroom has a bathtub/shower. All fixtures are modern and there is excellent lighting (with dimmers) in every room. The sun streams in through the windows on all four sides during the day. There is also a wood-enclosed, hot water outdoor shower along a flagstone path from the back door of the bedroom. The cottage was built as a year-round destination. The exterior is private, situated on beautifully landscaped grounds and in the last week of August, during my stay, the trees and flowers were in full bloom. There is a lovely front porch where I spent a lot of time, as well as large well-tended lawns surrounding the back and sides extending to the tree lines of the property. Other areas are filled with plants, flowers, and gardens. The cottage is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway, as well as for a single seeking a personal retreat with all the creature comforts. I was traveling solo and wanted quiet, nature and solitude, without feeling like I was in an “alone in the woods slasher film.” The peace and serenity I experienced during my stay was unparalleled. It was the perfect antidote to too much city life. The cottage is within walking distance to several natural habitats and town and one can easily get around on foot, by bike, or car. Cabs were plentiful, prompt, and inexpensive as I didn’t always want to walk to town. Lynne and Rich (gracious lovely people) checked in on me without being intrusive and had prepped the cottage immaculately in advance. I am looking forward to a return trip as I already miss the mornings spent sitting on the front porch with my coffee, reading, writing, thinking, and watching nature.

Perfect Katama/Edgartown, MV Beach Cottage

5 of 5
My boyfriend and I stayed in this MV Guest Cottage during the last week of August 2014 and could not have asked for a more ideal vacation. It is the perfect spot for a relaxing, authentic Martha’s Vineyard get-away. The location could not be better -2 miles to beautiful Katama South Beach and 1 mile to the downtown area of Edgartown with lots of cute boutiques and restaurants. The MV bus stops on Katama Road, just steps from the private road this cottage is located on and is an easy and quick ride into Edgartown or over to Oaks Bluff. If you’re active, the house location is wonderful for running the various loops around Katama and Edgartown and biking the island is also great. The guest cottage is well appointed and it definitely shows that the owners take great pride in up-keeping the home as everything is spotless and the décor is super beachy cute! There is a full kitchen including everything you need to whip up snacks, beach picnics and seafood dinners. The back patio is a magical place to unwind after a day at the beach or sightseeing. We thoroughly enjoyed grilling fresh seafood and farm stand corn on the gas grill, relaxing with some wine and watching the sky fill with stars. The guest cottage is private and secluded from the main house so that you feel that you’re very separated from the main house and its’ guests. The cottage offers all that you need to feel like it’s your home away from home –good size bedroom, ample closet space, living room and separate dining area and a washer/dryer which is fabulous to have on a beach vacation! The bath and beach towels are also great quality. And, the outdoor shower is fantastic! We’d highly recommend this beach cottage. It definitely helped in creating a magical vacation for us and we’ll return next year for sure!
