The house was in a quiet, lovely neighborhood and centrally located in Eastham. It was 3 miles from Marconi beach, 1 mile from Nauset Beach and also near all the bay beaches. The house was clean and well-stocked. The owner was extremely nice and responsive. There was an issue with the water tank and within 24 hours it was fixed. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.
We loved biking, hiking, nature walks, swimming, tennis. We loved the Captain Linnell restaurant in Orleans (recommended by the house owner).
A note about the Visitor's Information Center in Eastham regarding clamming. The clamming permit was $30.00. Clamming was a disaster. In our party of 5, three people got foot injuries (cuts), and after a 2-hour adventure, we only got two!! clams. The information center and the clamming licensing bureau in Cape Cod should protect citizens: 1) recommend everyone to wear protective water shoes; 2) require people to use rakes (instead of feet searching for clams); but most important: they should not mislead people into thinking they are going to find any significant number of clams.
Cape Cod should also come up with a more comprehensive beach/bay parking stickers....When you visit a place for one week, it'd be great to have this information immediately and not spend your vacation time trying to figure out which parking or other permits to buy, etc. It'd be very convenient if people could buy the stickers and permits in one place, even at the supermarket!
