Great house in quiet Dennisport neighborhood! Spacious rooms, updated furniture, nicely-stocked kitchen and pretty hardwood floors throughout. Easy 10 minute walk thru residential streets to Glendon Rd. Beach, and also walking distance to several restaurants, markets, shops, as well as kayaking and paddleboarding. Be sure to bring your own sheets & towels - as we learned, those are not commonly provided in Cape rentals, and the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Philip, the owner, provides a great list of restaurants, stores, and activities. The Dog House, and Joey's Pizza, both on the way to the beach, were big hits with my family. The nearby beach is fairly small with very little surf - perfect for younger kids. If you have teens (like me), you'll want to drive up the Cape a few miles to Chatham or Orleans for more boogie boarding-sized waves. You might also want to bring or rent wet suits as the water on the Atlantic side is mighty chilly. If you're looking at Cape towns, Dennisport is situated in the middle of several quaint small towns, making it easy to explore the area. Nearby Hyannis has a nice harbor with sailing and fishing tours, as well as ferries to Nantucket & Martha's Vineyard. Yarmouth has an inflatable park with lots of water slides that my teens enjoyed. All along Hwy 28 are mini-golf places, arcades, and ice cream shops. Chatham is a picturesque town with a lively downtown area, and a classic Cape Cod lighthouse. As first time visitors to the Cape, we loved it and would stay here again if we have another chance to visit.
