Charming & convenient, w/ all the luxuries of home

5 of 5
After spending a week at the Samuel Bates House for a wedding, Cohasset has become our favorite destination on the East Coast. The House is right across from the town Common, historic community churches, museums, and bakeries, making travel with our 3 young children so much easier. We were able to walk all over downtown Cohasset, and the owners provide the apartment with a free parking pass in case we wanted to drive to the beach, which is right down the road. Our children also loved that the House was equipped with beach chairs, beach towels and baskets, and beach toys; we loved that we didn't have to pack all those extras. A variety of books, board games, and DVDs are also provided, so it gave us time to relax while the kids played. We recommend ordering in from the amazing restaurant (Bia's) just below the apartment for a delicious dinner. Even though we were there on a weekend, we did not hear noise from the restaurant, yet we appreciated its convenience. Cohasset is a great destination for anyone who appreciates a charming coastal retreat, yet is very convenient to the Boston area by train or car. The Samuel Bates House was a true find -- beautifully decorated with all the amenities of home. Next time we visit the East Coast, we'll be sure to return.
