Family Christmas Together

5 of 5
This beautiful farmhouse is ideal for a family get-together or vacation. We hosted a family Christmas dinner for 17, with everyone sitting together in the beautiful dinning room. Some out-of-towners stayed the night. The large and well-equipped kitchen included everything we needed – plenty of dishes, glassware, silverware, cooking utensils, pans and a large stove. The double living room is comfortable and spacious. We especially enjoyed the cozy sunroom. Beds were comfortable with attractive sheets, blankets and towels. Double pane windows and central heating kept us warm in below-freezing weather. The location is peaceful, with a short walk to a creek and waterfall. Well-stocked grocery is a 15-minute drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated Merry’s hospitality and niceness. We hope to stay there again.

A wonderful place to spend your vacation

5 of 5
My family and I spent a week at the Cabin at Hawk Hollow and we had the best vacation we have had in years. The cabin was just as described and was the perfect size for our family of 4, with two bedrooms and a sleeper sofa that were just right for us. The cabin was perfectly clean when we arrived and Susan had left us flowers and a bottle of wine to welcome us. The location on the lake is wonderful, with 2 docks and lots of room to roam. Our original intention was to use the cabin as a jumping off point for Boston and Cape Cod, but the lake was so much fun and there was so much to do in the immediate area that we decided we could let some of our original destinations wait until next year. We did go to the Aquarium and Quincey Market on a rainy day and Boston was only @ 45 minutes away. Mystic Seaport was a little over an hour. Susan was kind enough to point out a series of local attractions and even gave us free tickets to Old Sturbridge Village that someone had given her. As parents, we wanted to relax and unwind and we were definitely able to do that. For our children, fishing, swimming, kayaking and canoeing on the lake were perfect ways to fill the days. We alternated between day trips and relaxing on the lake. We are already trying to decide when we will be able to go back next year!
