Wonderful place for a classic cape vacation.

5 of 5
Our family of four has spent a week there the last two summers. It is a cute little house, small but well equipped, clean, and well managed. Features include an outdoor shower, hammock and firepit for s'mores. The location is terrific. It does not have a water view but is just a 5 minute walk to Ridgevale Beach. The beach is the major draw for us and the kids--it has the open water (southern facing) with gentle surf, a long shallow beach so you can walk out a long way, great for kids, boating, etc; plus it has extensive tidal marshes and inland facing beaches that great for wading, catching critters, kayaking, watching birds, pulling little ones around on kick boards, etc. The owner very thoughtfully provides just about everything you could need for a day at the beach - umbrellas, chairs, sand toys, nets, and more. There is a snack bar and boat rental from the beach. We load our gear onto the provided old Radio Flyer wagon, pull that down the beach and are set for the day. Pop back to the house for lunch if you like or bring it along. Also, the house is not too far from an entrance to the main bike trail. It is a 10-minute drive to the center of Chatham. The area restaurants vary in quality, we recommend Hangar B at the airport for breakfast (long wait but you can watch the planes come and go), Wild Goose Tavern for all purpose eating, Chatham Fish Pier Market for take away fried seafood; Bluefin sushi; Box Office Pizza. Unimpressed by the Impudent Oyster though the bar area is cozy. Also, take some time away from the bustle and hang out at the Eldredge Library, great for kids and adults.

Perfect little getaway

5 of 5
If your looking for a rustic little getaway by the beach than this is the right place for you. My wife and kids age 6 and 5 had a blast, and it was a very safe family orientated community. My kids made friends while looking for hermit crabs on the beach and we bbq'd every night which made me happy. The beach was never too crowded and the water temp was warm. The house is on the older side, but that was what I was looking for, reminded me of houses that my family rented when I was young boy, very nostalgic. Brewster is a fairly quiet town that is not commercialized, fun things to do for the kids which again was a plus for me and my family. We will definitely stay there again next year!

Wonderful Summer Cottage!

5 of 5
My husband & I spent five weeks at this wonderful cottage. It was just as described. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we could want, including a beach pass. The owner lives locally and is very helpful if anything is needed. The only thing I would suggest is to install a hook & eye lock for the bathroom door. This central location couldn't be better. We walked to the village for a free concert on the library lawn weekly. You can also walk to Joshua's Pond, or to Wimpy's for lunch. I recommend the shrimp appetizer! We already booked our stay for next summer! Mary
