I fell in love with Wellfleet nearly 30 years ago, when my husband and I started bringing the kids, staying in other cottages along Mayo beach. After a long absence, we wanted to return and begin a new tradition of summer week-long retreats to Wellfleet with our 15-month-old grandson. Those cottages were sold in recent years, and it was time to scout out a new place for our Wellfleet escapes. After reading the glowing reviews and seeing the photos, we chose both Beach Rose Cottage and it's twin cottage next door. It turned out to be the best decision we could have made for our extended family, and we had plenty of room to spread out.
These sweet little houses are clean, modern, cozy and comfy, with lots of little touches that make them stand out from the rest. Both cottages are bright and airy, inside and out, and It's obvious that Rosemary takes great pride in their presentation and upkeep. To my pleasant surprise, linens were provided, as well as beach chairs, umbrellas and even beach toys! A washer, dryer and even a dishwasher are available, and the grassy yard, flowers and herb garden add a homey touch. The fenced-in backyard allowed our grandson to wander safely, and the huge outdoor shower was an added bonus - especially for those in our group a tad too tall or stout for the smaller indoor showers.
With the beach just feet away, a playground, ice cream, fried clams and even the quaint little town just a short walk away, and the Cape Cod National Seashore just minutes away by bike or car, there isn't a better, more peaceful location in all of the Cape. We're already planning our return for 2015!
