Cousins' Reunion at the Frederick William House

5 of 5
Our close-knit group of cousins recently celebrated time together by staying in Falmouth, MA., at the Frederick William House. It was a wonderful week for all due to delightful fall weather, scrumptious seafood and a beautiful home in which to start and end each day. It was spacious and clean, beautifully decorated and filled with all the conveniences we needed throughout the week. Located across the street from a lovely park in which to walk and directly in front of the Shining Sea Bikeway (which was listed on Trip Advisor as the #1 thing to do while on Cape Cod) we were surrounded by ways to experience Mother Nature firsthand. The home was equipped with enough bicycles for a large group of people with varying degrees of cycling experience which made the invitation of biking extremely easy. We traveled to both Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard and having the ferries within a few minutes drive was also very convenient. The owner, Jeanette, was so helpful with her many suggestions of places to eat, sights to see and places not to miss while on the Cape. We chose to eat breakfast each morning of our stay at the restaurant that she suggested which was within a few minutes walk of the house. The breakfasts were extremely good so we decided to treat ourselves rather than bring our own food in for the first meal of the day. Jeanette was very gracious and encouraged us to contact her with any questions that we might have. We would definitely return here again and will assure others that this is a five star experience.

Great rental experience!

5 of 5
Great rental experience! We were a group of three moms and seven homeschooled kids (age 9-14) who used the place for the last week in September. It was plenty of space and accommodated our group very nicely. This home was very well-maintained and very well-equipped, and Alex (the owner) was exceptionally responsive to both e-mail and phone. The owners clearly put a lot of effort into making sure that the home is clean and comfortable and well-supplied. I could have packed half of what I took if I had realized how many different things would be provided by the owners: full soap dispensers, dish/dishwasher/laundry detergent, wax paper/foil/plastic wrap, basic condiments and cooking ingredients, beach chairs, sand toys (and boogie boards I think, although we brought our own) - the list could go on and on. The gas grill is large and there was a full spare tank of propane available. And there was a ton of brochures and magazines about the area on the tables in the living room. The owners are clearly committed to giving guests a great experience, start to finish. Just some extra info on the layout of the place ... Upstairs is the very large master bedroom with king bed which has great windows looking out to the water. The upstairs bathroom is off the hallway (not off the bedroom). Also upstairs is a bedroom with three twins. Downstairs, off the dining room, is the queen bedroom and the bedroom with two twins. The fifth bedroom is immediately inside the door to the deck/parking area; it has a full-size futon that fits quite snugly into half of the room. The dining room table is very large and easily sat 10. The WiFi was reasonable, although we had to reset the modem several times. Other things that might be helpful to know ... We didn't realize that Sea View Beach and the surrounding area is know for being very calm (i.e., no waves). But I guess the Cape (except maybe out on the National Seashore areas) isn't known for great waves. But we had the whole beach area completely to ourselves, and the kids had a great time playing in the sand (pretty good for building). We also enjoyed walking the full length of the beach from river to river; as another reviewer noted, there is even a little playground area less than a five-minute walk down the beach (or road). Also, it's worth noting that in just a ten minute drive, you can be to the start of the Cape Cod Rail Trail (and a bike rental place) or the Swan Pond River (and a kayak rental place).

Fantastic home on Cape Cod

5 of 5
Having just spent a week in this lovely home, celebrating a milestone birthday with college girlfriends, I cannot say enough about this fabulous property. The home is immaculate and contains every luxury convenience one could wish for. Spacious bedrooms with fantastic views over the marsh to the ocean, huge deck to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset and everything in between, wonderful kitchen with every appliance one could dream of including a vitamix blender so that we could counteract the lobster rolls and clam chowder (best ever provided by the home owners!) with a healthy smoothie, heated pool with a waterfall (which the owners increased the temperature on to accommodate us southern ladies of a certain age), luxury bed linens and big fluffy towels, and a state of the art sound system. Far too many amenities to list, but suffice it to say it was not easy to pry ourselves out of the house to explore the rest of the Cape. The owners provided superb guidance tho on things to do and see as well as detailed dining options. The location was close to many activities and restaurants altho I must say that simply enjoying the Briar Point house and grounds was at the top of our list of favorite things to do. The sounds of nature including many birds during the day and owls at night was topped off by a sighting of a mother fox and three kits on our last day. I would love to return to this beautiful setting with my family and can recommend this luxury home with absolutely no reservations . Simply a wonderful place to spend time with friends or family!
