A Cozy Cape Cod Cottage

5 of 5
I just spent a wonderful few days in this very sweet quintessential Cape Cod cottage. I was vacationing with a very dear friend whom I've known since junior high school (many years ago). The cottage was cozy and comfortable for long conversations, cooking adventures, and private time writing and reading. It was ideal for us for just plain relaxing! However, it would also be spacious enough for a larger, active family. We immediately liked the cottage upon walking in. The decor is nautical and instantly inviting. The natural lighting, even in the overcast winter skies of January, was lovely. It was immaculately clean. The ambient temperature in the cottage was very toasty even though the outside temperature had dropped into the low teens and the wind was howling. The three bedrooms were decorated very nicely and with refreshingly minimal stuff. Each was comfortable and exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable, each nicely made with what looked and felt like new linens. The bathroom was also perfectly clean with enough space to store one's toiletries (especially including the small closet just outside the bathroom). The kitchen was equipped well for our needs and the owner has immediate plans to add to the utensils and serving dishes that are there. (We were just the second renters so the new owner really wanted feedback as to how to fully equip the kitchen for vacation families.) The sun room was warm and inviting even on the cold winter days we were there. In the summer, I would be out there every day! Other notable amenities would be the outdoor shower and barbecue. For families with children, a big plus would be its location on a quiet cul-de-sac with lots of space for playing outdoors. There are several puzzles and the owner has plans to add games and DVDs. The cottage is very well located--a moment's walk to a small organic grocery store and a very short drive to a larger grocery store, a drug store, and the center of Chatham, where there are many restaurants and appealing shops. The beaches are also just a short drive away. Finally, the owner is very responsive, flexible, and accommodating. Both my friend and I would definitely recommend the cottage and we would love to come back...again in the winter as well as in the summer!

Clean, convenient, comfortable.

The description and other reviews are accurate. This was my first time staying here. The location was only a short walk to Commercial Street and all the hustle and bustle, but remote enough to be able to escape all that. I was here in the off season, but I would imagine it's pretty quiet even in the Summer. The unit was well stocked and obviously well maintained. I only cooked one meal in the kitchen the week I was here, but you could easily eat in every meal if you chose to. The grocery store is only a short walk away. David was very easy to deal with and I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to a friend. Next time I visit Provincetown, I will definitely consider staying here if its available.

A very relaxing, beautifully furnished property

My wife and I were looking forward to staying at the cottage after having planned this trip 6 months earlier. We live in the UK and so the trip over the pond to New York City and subsequent week long stay at the cottage was very special for us! We arrived on a Sunday evening after a long drive from New York City so we were tired when we arrived. We were very impressed when we saw the house for the first time and even more impressed when we opened the door at the rear and walked through the kitchen into the lounge. It was so cozy looking and inviting and we just wanted to collapse into the comfortable looking sofa placed facing a large TV cabinet and that’s exactly what we did! We explored the house and were very impressed with the whole place. Our stay that week was very comfortable and we didn't want to leave the following Saturday. We could have stayed another week at least! Cape Cod is a lovely area and we didn't even see half of it. The house just made it even more special and we would definitely stay there again. The house is referred to as a cottage but to us, coming from the UK, this is not a cottage sized house. It is very spacious and so is the large garden at the rear. There are also many additional extras included for your use such as bikes, beach equipment etc and the garden has plenty of chairs to relax in. I didn’t meet Ed and Melisa but from the communication I had with them and a couple of telephone calls when I was there it was obvious that they are very nice, friendly people and couldn’t do enough to help with any advice or assistance requested. If you have a problem, they are keen to get it resolved as quickly as possible. Both my wife and myself would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay right in the middle of Cape Cod and close to the beach.
