We were an extended family of 8, 4 adults and 4 teenagers that stayed in Barbara and Ed's house for four nights at the end of October. From their welcoming hugs to parting gifts, we had the most amazing time! The description of the house does not do it justice, the amenities are fantastic, more in keeping with a 5* Hotel than a normal home but more importantly for me, the house was spotless and well maintained with an abundance of what seemed to be new bed linen and towels. There was plenty of room for all of us, the only downside, the rush for the one bathroom in the mornings which delayed our departure to sightsee somewhat! Barbara was always on hand if needed and emailed us well in advance of our arrival with details. As recommended we ate wonderful, filling, inexpensive breakfasts every morning in High Tide and were always welcomed there very warmly, especially by Cheryl our personal waitress. We ate once in D'Parma, an amazing local Italian and got a take-out from there another night. The house is in a lovely residential area less than a 10 minute drive from the T, which we used to travel into the city most days. It was reliable, fast and convenient. We had made out an itinerary before arriving in Boston but unfortunately didn't manage everything on it, so we'll just have to return!!!:-D
We did the Duck Tour, visited the Science Museum and the Aquarium,( thanks to Barbara and Ed for passes) ate in Fanueil Hall, visited Salem, shopped on Newbury St, Walmart and Wrentham Village Outlets. We would heartily recommend staying in Barbara and Ed's rental and envy those who will do so this year. We certainly hope to be able to return ourselves some day!
