Fabulous, Relaxing Berkshire Getaway

5 of 5
This my umpteenth time staying at Colesbrook Manor. I always enjoy myself and feel so at home there with the bubbling brook and the sunlight and the moonlight and the quiet. I have been there alone, with friends and as a couple. In all cases , it was very enjoyable and relaxing. It is a great place to hang out and cook meals together and play scrabble and take walks and go to the many venues in the nearby Berkshires … outdoor activities, Jacob’s Pillow for dance , Tanglewood for music and many museums. This time we even ventured up to North Adams to the Mass MOCA ( Museum of Contemporary Art). Colesbrook is quite the place to act as a wonderful base for exploring the area or simply enjoying the house and surroundings. And they are unique as I think of the place as a hand-made house where you can feel the energy of the earth and the people who built it as well as nature all around. It is a rustic setting and a get away from a lot of the hurry and busyness of the modern world in an authentic way. I recommend staying at Colebrook as a place to re-connect with the earth, the arts and each other. I look forward to my next stay as do all of the friends who have ever visited there with me. Happy Berkshires !

Wisteria Cottage has it all!

5 of 5
We loved staying at this cottage! We visit the Berkshires each summer for a weekend getaway - and so happy that we found this gem on Home Away. Wisteria Cottage offers great accomodations - starting with the lovely porch to enjoy your morning coffee, to a stocked kitchen with all of the staples, and ending with the peaceful sound of the stream that runs right behind the house. The location was great for us as we were really on the go from the time of our arrival, so having Jacob's Ladder closeby to hop on and off was great. Wisteria Cottage gave us a a great sense of privacy without being in total seclusion. Fran is a wonderful host! We were greeted with a very thoughtful gift basket and card welcoming us to the cabin. Fran was very helpful with providing us information on the area that came in handy - she even looked up and sent me info on local bakeries knowing it was my boyfriend's birthday. She puts alot of thought into the final touches around the cabin that you truly feel like you are staying at a relatives and/or friend's place. I highly recommend this cabin and look forward to visiting again next year! Thank you Fran! Jillian & Kevin

Truth In Advertising

5 of 5
We stayed at the end of June and were delighted to find the cabin as advertised; clean, neat and with every convenience but, thankfully, with no Internet. Enjoyed the canoe and the many cultural offerings nearby. The owners put a great deal of thought into their home, and it shows. Reasonably priced in a funky, eclectic development. Would definitely stay again.
