Quiet and relaxing- just what we all needed!

5 of 5
2nd stay...will go back. Just love watching the mules and chickens...we gathered eggs for breakfast every day. Mountain State Brewery= pizza is amazing. Discovered a cafe in Accident with live bluegrass on Friday night and the food was superb. Bonus this trip- 2 barn kittens and a miniature pony!

A perfect hiker and biker getaway

5 of 5
We rent a lot of homes within the DC area and this home has by far been the best we've ever rented. We loved the quiet location and close proximity to the C&O canal towpath, Antietam, Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. The local hike and bike trails are phenomenal for outdoor enthusiasts and walking on the towpath is great in summer because of the dense tree cover providing shade. We didn't even mind the lack of internet and cell access because it felt good to be disconnected for a change. FYI, Verizon never works well within the West Virginia area and probably will be hard to change. The house was immaculate and extremely well-stocked, and that's even allowing for doggie guests which is fantastic for us. Our dog loved the access to the river at Snyder's Landing (so will kids). Our favorite place to eat with dogs was Blue Moon Cafe in Shepherdstown which allow dogs on their beautiful garden patio. We loved it and will be back in the spring to see the river without the leaves. Thank you, Catherine and David.
