I'm just writing this review to state that a number of issues raised by the previous reviewer were corrected by the time of my early August stay. The furniture in the cabin is quite worn, but in general it met the expectations I had considering the price and the fact it's a cabin out in the woods.
The issues we did have were primarily with the wi-fi which worked VERY rarely. It was a fairly major pain, especially as cell coverage is very spotty in the area. Thankfully, prior to our arrival, I had written down addresses of places we wanted to visit so our car GPS picked up the slack. Without those addresses the lack of internet would have been a real problem rather than just a nuisance.
An exterior motion sensor light recommended by the previous reviewer is spot on. Also, as a note, use Google's directions to the address. Our car GPS lead us astray up a neighboring set of gravel trails which was very unfortunate considering it was pitch black and a narrow and winding unpaved road. If others have had problems in the past then maybe the owner could begin circulating directions from the main road to the cabin prior to check-in.
In general, the cabin is a very nice, large space, as is the yard. The basement still had a dank smell while we stayed, but it wasn't too bad (no boat in the garage so I'm guessing that was moved out and helped with the fumes the previous commenter noted). One guest did kill a very large roach in the basement so a pest treatment might be in order, but in general the bug issue was minor (an odd spider or moth here and there) considering the setting.
4/5 stars; would recommend.
