Home away from Home

5 of 5
We had such a wonderful stay at the Carriage House. The owners, Rich and Jane are so friendly, welcoming and fun! We loved getting to know them, their children and their 2 doggies, Bubba and Coco. Jane decorated the Carriage House and has exquisite taste. There was room for 6 of us comfortably and even 8 one weekend. It does feel brand new! We loved sitting on the breezeway in the morning and evening watching the sailboats go by on the river. And we loved the views from the pool and hot tub. Some nights we would walk down to the dock and watch the sunset, so lovely. Jane and Rich were so gracious and took us out on their boats and jet skis. They have a lot of "toys" and share them all! We hope to go back next year!!

Trust the reviews, this place is spectacular!

5 of 5
The massive house was excellent, clean, and all of the amenities were appropriate and well used and exceeded our needs. We had four families, 8 adults, 9 children and plenty of room to spare. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews, they are accurate. The pictures are excellent but they almost don't do it justice, the place is huge and immaculate. The view is probably the best in the area over the cove. I almost don't want this secret slice of paradise to be found. Some of the things to do while there....kayaking, fishing, birdwatching (Bald Eagle seen everyday), small hikes, swimming, sit around fire pit and watch the sunset, view the various wildlife, etc, etc. If you like Alapacas, stop by Painted Sky Alpaca Farm in Earleville, the wonderful owners will give a tour...about a 10 minute ride...or check out Chesapeake City which isn't too far away. Amos was a gracious host and we felt very comfortable knowing we could contact him at any time for any questions or problems we may have had. We were able to create some incredible memories at Eagle's View and will definitely return so please respect and take care of this gem if you decide to book it.

Wonderful Get-Away

5 of 5
Cranford on the Miles is a wonderful home overlooking the Miles River with spectacular views from every room in the home. It is a close drive from metro DC and is always a wonderful, relaxing get-away. I try to go every year because I so enjoy it. One of my favorite things to do is to walk out the front door and head down to the dock where at the end is a wonderful bench. From this location, I am consumed with the beautiful view of the river in almost all directions and the wonderful shoreline birds flying around. Depending on the day, there may be sailboats, kayaks or other water vehicles cruising around and maybe a jumping fish or crab swimming by. If you are lucky you may be able to catch one. There is also a small beach area by which to access the water. The beautiful, serene and quiet environment is coupled with a wonderful air-conditioned historic home equipped with all of today’s conveniences including those electronic needs we seem to not be able to live without. The home has a beautiful screened porch that includes a dining table and chairs along with sofa and comfy chairs on which to sit back and read a book or take an intended or unintended snooze. The owner has clearly thought of your every need in equipping the kitchen whether preparing a snack or a wonderful full course gourmet dinner with friends. In addition, the beds are incredibly comfortable and the owner provides a full cadre of nice sheets and towels for your use so you only need to pack your personal clothes and items. There is also a washer and dryer available. The home, as you can see from the pictures, is well maintained and has lots of wonderful places to relax and/or get together with family and friends. The home is decorated as you would decorate your own home and has an Eastern Shore motif – try counting the number of items with crabs on them. I’ve enjoyed the home as either a family or friends get-away. It has been perfect for both. It is a quick jaunt into historic downtown St. Michael’s to enjoy shopping, exploring and fun restaurants on the water. Groceries and other needs are only minutes away. In addition to St. Michael’s, there are lots of other towns and places to tour and visit that are a quick drive away and if you need to shop the outlets they are on the way coming or going. The owner clearly wants you to have a wonderful time while you are at Cranford on the Miles and is very accommodating.
