Looking for the Perfect Retreat?

5 of 5
We rented this home on an extended visit to the Eastern Shores. We were not familiar with the area and hoped that this River House would be true to the description. We were not disappointed! The accommodations could not have been more perfect! Everything was as described. Every room had a beautiful waterfront view, clean, and provides all of the amenities mentioned in the description. What can't be described is the feeling of being "home" when away from home! The owners welcomed us with a fun welcome sign as we walked to the front door. Thus began our journey over the holidays. Staying at The River Home at Moot Point was comfortable, a quiet beauty with lovely winter views of the river, all of the details that everyone looks to make their vacation "trouble free". The owners are gracious, kind, and truly welcome you to this home. Every aspect of our stay here made us feel like we were leaving new friends. Hands down, we will return. Thank you Peter, Helen, and Sophie!

Perfect getaway filled with warmth and hospitality

5 of 5
My sister is getting married this winter so a few of the bridesmaids and I planned a getaway weekend for her. It was the everything we hoped for - a nice relaxing weekend with the girls to unwind and get away from the stresses of life and wedding planning. The hideaway was beautiful and so comfortable inside and the neighborhood was so friendly we really felt at home. One of the many great things about the property is the proximity to the bay. It was awesome to sit outside on the patio in the morning and be able to see the water and listen to the waves. The beaches were so close to the house and I couldn't believe how warm the bay water was! We didn't do a whole lot while we were there - mostly just hung out on the beaches and on the water (I couldn't believe how warm the bay water was!) but everywhere we went we were welcomed with so much hospitality! We ate at Jerry's place the first day and since we had never been there, our server brought out samples for us to try some of their more popular menu options. It was the best restaurant service I have ever experienced that wasn't a white glove restaurant. We went to a wine tasting at Perigeaux Vineyards and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and give us the most fantastic fun experience. They recommended we go to Stoney's for dinner (only about 15 min from the winery) where we, again, had an awesome server who we became quick friends with. Overall, it was the best vacation we could have wished for. Nobody wanted to leave. We will definitely be back!

Home Away From Home

5 of 5
This was our first experience with “HomeAway,” and it was an ideal introduction to this type of vacation accommodation. The separate apartment was totally private and completely furnished, allowing us to save travel money by preparing our own meals, as well as doing our laundry. Barbara and Tom were warm and wonderful hosts, and generously provided everything that we needed to feel totally comfortable and at home. Aside from all of the necessities, Barbara also left fresh Spring flowers, an unexpected and lovely grace note. Our hosts were also completely supportive in providing us information about how to take the commuter train into Washington, DC. It was very nice to “live” in the rolling hills of MD, and yet have easy access to the city. It was a very convenient base for taking other daytrips to Annapolis, MD as well as to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. We feel as if we have made new friends in MD, and we definitely would plan to stay here again if our travels brought us back to this area.
