This was our first trip to DC as a family. We decided to stay at Wyndham National Harbor Resort because of the kitchen and second bathroom...both a must when traveling with 3 boys. The suite was large enough that we weren't tripping over each other the entire stay. Our friends (with 2 children) were staying at another nearby luxury hotel and really could have used some of the extra space we had. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed to make breakfast daily, pack lunches, and even prepare dinner. I would suggest grocery shopping before getting to National Harbor. The only grocery store is convenient to walk to but very overpriced. One of my favorite things was the complimentary shuttle that took us to/from the DC Metro station. The shuttle stop was a short walk from the resort and ran pretty much all day. This saved us from having to drive into DC or pay a cab/bus fee. We parked our car in the garage and didn't drive it until we left to come home.
The only thing I was really disappointed in was the linen situation in the resort. 1) The sofa bed did not have sheets or a blanket. When we called to request those items we were given sheets that were too small to fit and no blanket. 2) We had 5 people staying in the room for 6 days and the towels/washcloths could only be exchanged once. Any exchange after that we would be charged. 3) When we visited the pool we tried to locate towels and none of the staff seemed to know where to find pool towels.
Overall, I would recommend this property to others.
