RELAXING AND WONDERFUL

5 of 5
We knew that the home would be unique. We didn't know how much we were going to love it! The whole atmosphere was peaceful. My Mother did not want to leave for anything. Dinners with family and sightseeing didn't interest her. She just wanted to stay here. The birds would come to sing to us on the deck. Hummingbirds at the honeysuckle bush. The view out the back window was amazing. Day and night. The night view was a real delight. The nature trail was fun. Little toads were hopping about. I couldn't believe how tall the trees are. Our first trip was to the National Colonial Farm. It was so close. Not to be missed. The view of Mt Vernon was great from the pier. The interpreters at the park were friendly and very knowledgeable. Happy pigs and sheep. We also went to the National Harbor. What a great place. The Ferris wheel is quite the sight. I couldn't get anyone to go with me. I enjoyed the shopping and people watching. Also a farm market. The peaches were yummy. MGM is in the process of building there. That will just add to the sights. Our host Tony was very easy to reach and did a great job with suggestions for our trip. He has a notebook that explained all of the information on the house. It was well organized and helpful. The house had all the amenities that we needed. It was very clean and well kept. Loved the kitchen and the living room. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. It was interesting to see the history of the house. Overall we were very impressed and would highly recommend Tony and the Light catcher Retreat.

COMMENCEMENT & VACATION

4 of 5
My family and I stayed at the Wyndham for a twofold purpose. I was graduating from American Public/Military University, which was held at the neighboring Gaylord Hotel & Convention Center as well as to break away from the hassles of Houston, TX traffic and military life and enjoy summer in the nation's capital. Upon our arrival, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, and provided a lot of useful info about local entertainment and dining. Our room was clean and spacious and loved having washer/dryer within unit as well as free laundry room on the floor if larger loads accumulated. The fitness room on the 2nd floor was adequate and had free weights and cardio equipment and the sauna was a plus. There were also two pools, indoor/outdoor that were my 4yr old daughter's favorite place to unwind. We definitely will be going back. It also was an added benefit that the Chariot shuttle was FREE and picked up near the resort and transported us to the Metro station and ran until 8pm allowing ample time to tour the town and make it back. The restaurants were amazing from Cadillac Ranch where we went to ride the mechanical bull and get some great burgers, to Grace's Mandarin where we enjoyed amazing Sushi and cocktails, to Bobby Mckeys Piano bar where my wife and I were able to have a date night and enjoy great music and dance to oldie and goodies, and Bond 45, and Pink Berry and Ben and Jerry dormice cream and yogurt. The Wyndham was everything it was advertised to be and then some. We have already recommended it to others and already planning our return trip. Oh, and the activities within National Harbor such as the Capital,Wheel, observatory and paddle boats and water taxi are added bonuses.

PEACEFUL NEST!

5 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful vintage, rustic log home! It was so peaceful, impeccably clean, spacious and beautiful! We really enjoyed the natural vintage beauty of the cabin, including the very cool wooden ceilings, glossy log wood interior and unique fireplace. It was a wonderful, quiet retreat we really needed, enjoyed and appreciated. It has both heat, central and easy to set up wireless. Our small doggies really enjoyed the cabin as well! The home was part of a neighborhood, but felt very private, excluded and a safe, restful retreat. Even with our many walks near the cabin with our doggies, we only saw 1 lady gardening, two fisherman and a dog walker. We were also pleased to find everything we needed in the hallway closets, etc. There was also lots of storage to include a “mud room”, outdoor seating, table, gas grill and so much more! We did see one beautiful deer about a block from the cabin. There were a number of birds that you would hear singing in the morning to welcome in a new beautiful day. We used the home as a base for general relaxation and also to participate in commencement ceremonies at University of Maryland. It was an easy 35 minute drive to the U. of MD campus. There was a book in the cabin that listed local points of interests, restaurants, etc. including a supermarket, gas station, Burger King and others. There was a short list of light cleaning chores to do upon checkout which took about 15 minutes and which was nothing outside the norm that would be done to show respect to the home owners. We received our security deposit back within 48 hours which was also very appreciated. We predominately communicated with the seller via email. She sent us the address and access code to lockbox several weeks before our visit. She called us the day of our arrival and checked to see if there was anything we needed which was very nice of her! We had a personal situation back home that shortened the end of visit, which the owner was very supportive and accommodating regarding this. She has since checked in with us a couple of times to check up on us which was really appreciated. Again, we immensely enjoyed our visit to this beautiful classic, vintage log home! Looking for peace and quiet, rest and relaxation in a vintage log home? Look no further – don’t miss this one! Absolutely lovely, classic vintage, rustic beauty you have to see in person to truly appreciate! Wonderful, compassionate owners, wonderful to deal with!
