      serene, idyllic, very special

We are a family of 16 with an age span between 70 and two years. The house easily accommodated all of us - the bedrooms are comfortable, private and the nights quiet. The house is fully equipped for any need be it steaming crabs, toasting marshmallows and the ordinary daily meal. The children swam in the river, their favorite occupation, or in the pool, and hiked through the extensive forest and fields and visited the historic windmill with George Radcliffe as historical guide. An abundance of wildlife provided other pleasures. The property is beautiful and each hour of the day revealed a unique ambience. The hosts, George and Jackie Radcliffe are warm, generous and gracious. The Radcliffe family has a vast amount of history of its own which adds to the atmosphere of the house. We couldn't have asked for a more idyllic setting for our family reunion.

A wonderful place to reconnect with family!

      5 of 5
Our family of five including 3 teenagers had one of the most relaxing and fun vacation we've had in a long time. The house itself is well maintained, very clean with a nice "Pottery Barn" feel to it. I loved the fact that the kitchen opens to the family room which is huge. Families with young children will appreciate that the pool is gated. We spent our days by the pool, canoeing on the bay, enjoying appetizers on the dock, and grilling our dinners. There was no need for us to look elsewhere for entertainment. This house had everything we were looking for - a place to enjoy some great family time. I definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to reconnect with family and/or friends.

Last August 2006 my family and I stayed at Serenity Acres. It is a lovely home for a family to vacation in. We enjoyed boating every day. The pool was where we spent most of our time when we weren't boating. The house is very well equipped and we would have rented it again this year but we needed a larger home.
