Adventurous Acommodations

4 of 5
We had a wonderful time in Baltimore and staying on a houseboat added to the adventures. There were 4 adults and 2 college students (adults too) in our group. Each of us had beds and there was room to hang out together in the evening. One thing I did not expect was the rocking of the boat throughout the evening. It wasn't a problem, and was soothing as we laid down to sleep. I was worried that we'd be cold but the boat heated up nicely. Donovan, the caretaker, met us when we arrived and had the boat warm and inviting. He was helpful giving up tips for the boat and downtown area. The location is ideal. We walked downtown in minutes and had a plethora of restaurants, shops, and coffee houses to choose from. We ate dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant downtown that was marvelous. Others staying on houseboats (visitors like us and locals that live there) were very friendly. The only downside was the mattress for the pull out couch. It was awful and made sleeping very difficult and uncomfortable. There was a blow up mattress available but it was a single not a double. The mattress in the state room was exceptional! So much so that our friends plan to buy one for themselves. I would recommend this house boat and the company to others, in fact, I already have. It was very affordable, comfortable, warm, in a great location (parking was abundant at the marina - thank you), and a different experience for a weekend visit.

Very convenient to the convention center/harbor!!

5 of 5
There were 4 of us staying in the row house which worked out perfectly! Given the fact that we were all women and there was just one HUGE bathroom, it worked out perfectly!! We each had our own bed too! The convenient, short walk to the convention center was a huge plus and having a space to park two cars at the house vs. trying to find a spot on the street was even a bigger plus. The small kitchen had everything we needed and the living/dining area was great to just congregate when we had breakfast in and back home after a long day of barbershop music. The Corner Bistro and wine bar that Kurtis recommended was wonderful and just minutes away. Meredith and Kurtis were great hosts!! I would highly recommend this over a hotel room!!!
