GREAT VACATION HOME!

5 of 5
We LOVE this home. Lots of things to do on the lake; canoe, swim, fish, etc. Our dogs loved watching for the loons as they came right up to the dock to feed on all the fish. Great place for kids, teens and adults. While the kids did have internet withdrawal on day one, by day seven, they were sad to be missing the daily swims, canoeing and hanging out (together!) and the fire pit cooking the days catch. Was even more relaxing for us (parents) and my mom to relax lakeside and enjoy the summer (even if there were 2 full days/nights of rain). This was our 2nd year renting this home and I am sure it will NOT be the last. **These pictures may not be up to date (new owners in 2013) as the 2 leather chairs in the Living Room photos have NOT ever been there in the 2 years we have rented this home, but there are 2 couches, which allowed us to have a family of 6 + dogs sitting for back to back movie/game nights (2+ nights of heavy downpours). Also the "checkers/chess" table/chairs (was there 2012, gone 2013) and dining room table are different, than shown. We had a much longer table to eat at both years and in addition, a bench, with the 4 chairs shown. While, the listing never mentions a fire pit, there is one, a very large one. However, I would suggest bringing your own chairs as the only ones available (2013) outside are for a outside dining area, which we eat at daily for lunch. There were originally some very heavy duty plastic Adirondack chairs(4) around the fire pit, but the prior owners may have taken those with them. There may or may not still be a hammock (was still there last year and years past), which was fantastic for LOTS of afternoon post swim/canoeing naps. I will say that this home offers THE most comfortable beds on a vacation yet, however #3 was a bed fit for a Princess (or two). The one and only bath has a somewhat highter than most claw foot tub (dreamy and delicious for relaxing bubble baths!!!) that my mother (elderly) had a difficult time getting up and into for showering. Be aware if you will be/have elderly guests. The fact that all the towels and linens are provided at no charge is the greatest benefit ever for packing for any vacation! Lastly there were no children's life vests (pictured in the Noah's Ark bunk room) as there were in our first years visit. BYO Children's Life Vests. There were 4 adult (very vintage and very bright orange) life vests only that will not fit on small children.

PERFECT SUMMER CAMP

5 of 5
Our visit could not have been better. I'll add some details about the camp because that is what will help you choose this place, not my superlatives! The camp sits on the east side of Thomas Pond so you have the afternoon sun and beautiful sunsets. There is a dock off of a larger deck where the water is approximately 7 feet deep at the end, perfect for swimming off. Plenty of room for a jetski or 20ft boat. There is a firepit, grill, plenty of outdoor seating and the views are spectacular. There is an awesome diner (Danielles) about 5 minutes back down the road and Raymond boat launch/beach is free and great for the younger kids as it stays shallow out to the floats. The camp has plenty of privacy and the extra bunkhouse is perfect for visitors. The place was spotless and very cute with a wonderful sunroom on the back that was great for playing cards and enjoying a book with a great view. Camp came with enough pots, pans and dinnerware to get through breakfast up through steaming lobsters (available for CHEAP locally) for dinner,There is a small shaded lawn up by the road if you want to pitch a tent. The relaxation that my family enjoyed cannot be overstated. There was exactly NO PROBLEMS with the property. With no minor inconveniences or calamities we spent our time fishing, sailing (you can rent sunfish sailboats $200/5 days delivered from a local rental company), swimming and enjoying the local shops and sites. It was a great way to spend a week and we will definitely be coming back! The Owner was a breeze to deal with and I honestly could not have been happier with our visit. ps. brush up on your constellations because you will have a chance to impress the kids as they are all visible! We had Venus hanging out over the pond (the size of a medium lake, the pond designation is due to the avg depth not area) right at sunset, it was really cool.

OUTSTANDING!

5 of 5
All the prior 5 stars reviews were very accurate. It has a rustic ambience with modern amenities. We loved the simplistic layout with little nooks, cozy corners and plenty of comfortable sleeping options. The kitchen and bath updates blended well with the original interior. It was spacious but warm and welcoming. The well considered amenities were appreciated - quiet dishwasher, gas cook stove, washer/dryer, internet access. For lodge entertainment, we found plenty of good books, some favorite magazines, fun games and a respectable collection of movies. I think the only thing we didn't like was leaving!
