Beautiful lakeside property

5 of 5
We have been renting this property for many years now and we keep coming back. The location is fantastic - set on a beautiful lake at the base of pleasant mountain. There is a dock where you can sit and enjoy the sun, as well as tie up your boats, kayaks, floats, etc... There is a floating raft as well. There is a big yard for games, volleyball, or just to sit and enjoy the view. The house is large and well maintained. We stay with 6 families and there is plenty of room. There are several TV's, a pool table, a big kitchen table for eating and the kitchen is well stocked. The owners are very nice and accommodating. They have staff nearby to help out as needed. I highly recommend this property!

Perfect summer getaway!

5 of 5
My boyfriend and I were traveling from the southwest to visit family this summer and stayed here for the week. Everything about our stay was amazing. The house itself has been beautifully designed and prepped for renters with literally every detail in mind and was immaculately clean upon our arrival. When you're on vacation, nothing beats being able to wake up in the morning sans alarm and sip coffee from the porch swing, get into a good book from an Adirondack chair, put together big meals in the fully stocked kitchen (we took advantage of an awesome natural food store 5 minutes down the road called The Good Food Store...which also caters!) and sit down for dinner around the huge dining table before spending the rest of the night hanging out by fire pit and star gazing from the hot tub. Along with some R&R, our group really wanted to soak up the perfect summer temps (low to mid 70s!) with some outdoor adventure, so we were thrilled to find so many options at our finger tips (i.e. 5-15 minutes away). In just a few days we hiked through Grafton Notch State Park, tubed/kayaked down the Bear River, picnicked alongside some beautiful waterfalls (Step Falls, Screw Auger Falls) and even did a little cliff jumping at Frenchman's Hole. On our next stay here, we plan to also try out the zipline and downhill mountain biking at Sunday River. We'll definitely be back AND recommending the Maine Ski House to family/friends. There's no better way to experience Maine's motto: the way life should be!

Cute cabin

4 of 5
Our group stayed in this cabin for a weekend of spring skiing at Sugarloaf. We generally stay in the Rangeley area as we ski both Sugarloaf and Saddleback and Rangeley is closer to our home. A couple in our group wanted to ski only at Sugarloaf so we chose this cabin. The cabin is located on Route 27 but we found it be very quiet without much road noise. The cabin is very cute and met all of our needs. The sunken living room with wood stove was interesting and the living room had a beautiful peaceful view. The outside wood shed was enclosed and therefore all wood dry and owners even left kindling to light the stove with. I found the cabin to be clean and comfortable. The two upstairs bedrooms are small but adequate. The cabin would be most comfortable with 6 - 8 might be a tight fit particularly with one bathroom. We would definitely consider renting this cabin again on a future trip to the Sugarloaf area.
