My fiance and I (and our dog Tucker) arrived at the Artist's Studio late on a Friday night to a roaring fire in the wood stove and the yummy smells of the freshly baked coffee cake Wendy had left for us. Needless to say, we immediately relaxed and switched into vacation mode.
The studio is lovely, immaculately clean with very comfy furnishings and every attention to detail. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals, including thoughtful extras like olive oil, various herbs and spices, condiments as well as coffee and creamer. Similarly, the bathroom had everything most people would need including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shaving cream, a hair dryer, etc. The bed was wonderful. I'm a very light sleeper and have a hard time sleeping in strange beds but I slept like a baby every night. We skied at Sunday River on Sat and Sun, which was close enough for us to come "home" for lunch and walk Tucker. On Monday, we snowshoed in a pretty location recommended by Wendy and Gary.
The view of the valley and Sunday River is nothing less than spectacular!
Being able to bring our beloved dog Tucker is very big deal for us and finding places in the Bethel/Newry area that accept dogs is extremely difficult. We are so thankful that Wendy and Gary are truly "dog people" in every sense of the word, just like us.
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time at the Artist's Studio. By Saturday morning, we were already trying to figure out when we could come back for another long weekend.
As an added bonus, we got engaged while on the slopes Sunday. When Wendy and Gary found out, they had us over to their place for a celebratory glass of wine. Even though we had just met, they were so warm and welcoming it was like celebrating with good friends!
Thanks again Wendy and Gary for sharing your fabulous cabin with us. We look forward to our next visit!
