Jane & Stan

5 of 5
My husband and I just returned from our vacation at Village by the Sea. The condo was clean and beautifully furnished. It felt like home away from home. The washer and dryer was so convenient and the rooms very comfortable. We are familiar with the area so stopped at some of our favorite eating places. We especially like Warrens in Portsmouth on the other side of the new bridge. They have a wonderful soup and salad bar. Also, the Maine Diner in Wells. Good home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner. We spent time walking the beach in Wells and reading our books as the waves crashed against the shore. Also, had to go to Reny's. It's like one of those old time stores with everything in it. At night, we took advantage of the hot tub and pool at the condo. Very relaxing just before bed time. We hope to go back sometime soon. It was a wonderful week but too short! Thank you Monica and David for a most pleasurable experience.

Wonderful family vacation

5 of 5
What a great vacation. The apartment was clean and exactly as pictured. My family of 6 felt right at home. The location was excellent and apartment was exactly what we were looking for. The washer and dryer were definitely a plus too. Cooking in the apartment was easy as everything needed was right at your fingertips. Thank you Laurie and Jeff for sharing your home with my family. We fully enjoyed our stay! Best, The O'Shea family

Beach Access is Great!

4 of 5
We stayed in one of the smaller units that are not described in this advertisement. It was a little different than this picture - there are actually two buildings with multiple apartments. The building we stayed in was not pictured in the promotions, but on a nearby side street. That being said, it's literally a stone's throw from the public access to the beach. We loved the convenience of being so close!! The apartment itself is a good bargain for the space you get. We had two bedrooms (one Queen and one Full), a dining room kitchen combo with full sized appliances, and a small living room. Be warned, this is by no means a luxury apartment. The furniture is old and worn (most of it looks like it came from a yard sale) and the apartment itself is old - pretty dated interior. BUT, it was clean and for the high season, it was a reasonable price. There were three adults and one infant staying there, and we felt it was a little tight, but manageable. It's also a nice part of the beach. Don't confuse this for Moody Beach (also in the Wells) which is closer to Ogunquit. They are similar, but during high tide, Wells Beach is harder to walk on. There's less beach exposed, but again, this location is literally across the road, so you can always walk over check it out and walk back if it's not a good time. We usually come in the fall and stopped in at Ogunquit beach one day just to see it. There were literally thousands of people crammed into a small space. We were happy we chose to stay where we did! I'd recommend this place if you are looking for easy beach access and need a little extra space than a hotel room, or if you need a kitchen like we did.
