We've really enjoyed our stay at this well equipped and charming cottage for the past three summers. The cabin is always clean and Steve and Jean are welcoming hosts and make sure our visit is perfect. We bring our Golden Retrievers and teens and they also enjoy the location.
We prefer to stay right at the lake most days but there are pleanty of activites in the surrounding area. We have enjoyed panning for jems, golfing, and day trips to Portland, up Mt. Washington, and to the ocean. The Oxford Hills area has abundant antique shops and lots of small stores for rainy day snooping.
There are several good resturants to be found but our favorites are very casual including Amatos for their famous Italian sandwiches and pizza and The Lost Gull for seafood.
We launch our Sunfish sailboat right off the beach which also has a float, a pier, lots of kids toys, and kayaks and canoes. The views are georgous as this location is all about peacefull beauty and outdoor enjoyment. We especially enjoy watching the moon rise over the lake, paddling out to the beaver hut with the kids, evening camp fires, and listening to the loons.
We are counting down the days till next summer!
