Fabulous, Fabulous, did I say FABULOUS??????

            5 of 5
We arrived on Saturday 7/5, new to the area and we generally we stay further south in Maine but are we are so glad we made the venture. Actually it turned out to be closer than some of the western Maine areas we have stayed over the past 6 years. From Boston it is about 3 hours a very easy commute. From day one we were blown away there is nothing we can say re: improvements. The cottage is intimate and has all the modern conveniences. All appliances are top of the line. The pictures on home away are accurate. It was spotless and so inviting. The property is private and quiet. We would enjoy the Adirondack chairs out front overlooking the pond or we would venture down the dock and sit there on those chairs. We would kayak (provided) and the pond is easy with little motorized traffic. There was a loon family with a new baby and we kept an eye on them, so much fun to watch!!! Boy, did the baby loon grow in the 2 weeks we were there. The cottage is so comfortable, usually when we rent, we can't wait to get home because we miss our bed at home, not here, the bed and linens were so comfortable and the rooms so airy. It did not get hot enough to use the A/C but we were glad we had that option if needed. We had great weather but one day it rained, we stayed inside reading (who does that anymore??) and we were so relaxed. We cooked in several days and the amenities allow for easy cooking (outside grill and inside oven and stove). Clean up easy with the dishwasher. Eat out in Waterville, you have to go to Sylvan St Grill (outdoor seating and owner Charlie is wonderful as is the food, beverage and service). We also highly recommend 180 degrees a great seafood restaurant 2 doors down on Sylvan St. Also in Waterville a GREAT italian place, Amici's Cucina , owners are a family from East Boston dad in kitchen mom and daughter out front. Food is better than North End in Boston and service makes you feel like you are their family members. We ventured to Skowhegan for a romantic dinner at Heritage House though 38 minutes from the cottage it was so worth the trip. We travelled to Boothbay for a day and Bar Harbor on another day both very doable. Lisa is very responsive to your needs but we would be surprised if you need to contact her as she gives very specific instructions that cover everything. If you are looking for a very comfortable, quiet and relaxing vacation this lakeside cottage is for you. Truly a serenity cottage.

            What an amazing vacation!

What an amazing vacation.! The camp was beautiful and very clean. Everything you would need at home was available. My family loved waking up to a breathtaking view. The floating dock always had children jumping from it. While kayaking and canoeing we saw many different fish, waterfowl, and wildlife. The recommendations were top notch. We are from PA but I must say Wicked Whoopies are awesome . The Lobster Pond dinner was delicious and filling. We would go back today if we could.

Our trip to Webber Pond with our grandsons

            4 of 5
This worked perfectly for us. I liked the fact there were tvs with stations, one story cabin, all walls are wood paneling, kitchen sufficient with everything needed for cooking, eating and a new grocery store in China, Maine. Also, plenty of space to park, price is good and location was perfect for us since our daughter and son-in-law live in Augusta. We have driven to Camden from another cabin we rented nearby and it didn't seem very far. We have taken sailboat rides there during the day and early in the evening. Also, go to the state park overlooking Camden. Beautiful views. As mentioned by others, there are activities in Augusta. We really wanted to just spend time with the boys and not do a lot of traveling on our visit last year. We had bought new kayaks for them. I would like to rent this cabin again if it is available and we do visit during the summer. Most of the cabins I have seen have been two stories and I enjoyed not having upstairs bedrooms. The property was clean. We enjoyed the gas grill. We love China Dinah Restaurant in China, Maine. My cousin from North Carolina thought it was Chinese food. It has everything and everything is good. I don't think they have Chinese Food. In Augusta, Margheritas is a very good Mexican Restaurant. Camden has many nice restaurants. If you like to go to restaurants nightly, this might not be the best choice. If you would like a lovely view of a lake that is said to be one of the best fishing lakes in Maine on a little peninsula without houses extremely close, you will like this house. The only negative comments is I did not find any of the chairs for the lawn very comfortable and fortunately, brought our own lawn chairs. The pictures are accurate. We needed to be closer than the deck to watch the boys in the water. They have nice metal chairs on the deck. The water side is mostly shaded all day. The pictures of the house side on the lake, the screen porch is a little strange looking but is probably helpful at times. The deck itself is nice. Coincidently, I just ordered a 11x14 picture looking through the trees at the lake. This cabin would work for a handicap person but they would need to travel in and out of the front of the house and it is a little bit of an incline to the lake. I really can't remember what size door the bathroom has which can be critical to a handicap person. A nice place to spend some quiet time.
