Exactly what we were looking for!

5 of 5
We were looking for a quiet house on a lake and this was everything we wanted, and more. A cozy, clean home with a beautiful deck and easy access to the water. We spent most of our time kayaking around the lake and swimming, but did take day trips to Acadia, Rockport, and Freeport. Deborah was an excellent host and provided all of the amenities we could ever need. One of our all time favorite vacations!

Sweet, classic cottage

4 of 5
This is a classic cottage on the Lake. The owners do take great care with the property. It is very clean. We have been to the property before and hope to be back again!

Wonderful

4 of 5
Cabin is small but airy, not cramped. Beds seem newish and are very comfortable. The floors are mostly bare wood, with an area rug in the den and carpeting in the master bedroom. Overly carpeted lake houses can get extra musty. The house is secluded and very well maintained. It's set back about forty yards from the water. There's a sloping lawn which leads to the waters edge. Flat enough near the lake to have a catch, enough of a rise to give the house a nice view. Surrounded by trees. Bona-fide fire pit. The kitchen is well appointed. The property is on a large, knee deep shoal, so the swimming is fantastic for kids. The shallows get about 10 degrees warmer than the deeper parts of the lake. Water can get pretty cold in Maine so this is a plus. Crawford is a really fun lake to fish. The water's clear and the under-water terrain is super easy to read. We've stayed on Crawford twice. The first time the fishing was red hot. This last time the weather didn't make for the best fishing, but I still caught a few 3 pounders. Fish for Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, White Perch, Pike Very Important - go to Beth's Farm Market. Easily one of the best farm stands anywhere. It's only about 10 minutes away. Make sure to go as soon as you get to the house, but don't buy stuff for your entire stay. You'll want to go back a few times at least. Get the strawberry shortbread if it's berry season. Get directions here: bethsfarmmarket(dotcom) Website does not do it justice. The owners are very nice and very easy to work with. A+ This is not a BS owner review by the way.
