          Peaceful Waterfront

          5 of 5
We had another great vacation on Tunk Lake at this rustic and peaceful waterfront cabin. The view across the lake to Black, Catherine and Tunk Mountains is beautiful and the water is crystal clear. (There is inland salmon the lake.) The trailhead for hiking are on Rt. 182 and in Sullivan for Black Mountain. We enjoyed sitting on the dock at night and viewing the stars and the Milky Way. The BEST view of the Milky Way we have ever seen. A short drive to the town of Milbridge and you'll find the laundromat and Inland Seafood. At Inland Seafood, go see Herman and buy lobsters to bring back and steam at the cabin. Also, the Fisherman's Wife Restaurant in Milbridge has good fried fish and it's BYOB. We have stayed three times at the cabin and have feel like it's a second home to us. We love it there.

Perfect gathering place for a large family

          5 of 5
This handsome, spacious log home in a remote, beautiful location is one-of-a-kind. Everything is provided for cooking, comfort and recreation for a group of 12, all ages. The home is immaculate and comfortable, with a large play room complete with ping pong, air hockey, exercise equipment, foos ball, darts, and a movie viewing corner with an extensive selection of DVDs.The wrap-around deck and porch invite reading and conversation. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area and the property from the materials left for our interest. The kitchen works well with four people in it. The beach, dock and float are in excellent condition. We enjoyed swimming out to the island and back. The kayaks and canoe were used often. Bikers will find roads and trails nearby. Hikers can picnic atop local mountains or explore remote beaches on Donnell and Little Tunk ponds. Schoodic Point of Acadia National Park is an easy one hour drive south. The owner is very helpful and eager for you to have the best vacation ever at her rental. She provided 12 of most everything we needed . Extensively equipped and built to provide hospitality for a large group. We loved our stay here and hope to return. We recommend this beautiful place to anyone.

Beautiful private cabin on a pristine lake!

          5 of 5
We absolutely loved our stay at this gorgeous log cabin. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything needed. The furnishings, linens and bedding were all beautiful, new and top quality. We felt like we were living in a LL Bean catalogue. We enjoyed paddling around the crystal clear lake in the provided canoes and kayaks. The remote, private location is about a 45 minute drive to the Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park area. It was definitely worth the drive to escape the hustle and bustle of the more populated tourist areas. We also did find some great, scenic hiking trails a short drive away. The management was friendly and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and would love to return someday!
